There is a name for weird products in Japan. They are called Chindogu (cheen dough goo). Some of these item are useful where as others do not really serve a particular purpose and are just interesting to look at. Inventing stuff like this in Japan is actually considered an art form I think (do not quote me on that but I’m pretty sure it is.
