There's a funny discussion in which the party complain about Riku's boating skills and that they feel a bit queasy because of it. In his defence, the party keep changing their course... which is pretty much what the player will be doing constantly given the size of the place.

I made an extra save file back then (you only had three) because this music just plays in a pretty short time in the game

@@romacalor Well that'd be fair but it honestly takes way less than 2 minutes to get to the place where you actually go do that, so you wouldn't actually get to hear up to that point on the boat if you're just doing story.

People forget that this isn’t just the regular boat music but the climactic version that plays only when you’re just about ready to assault Origin.
When the first boat had its own theme I was thinking that vessel-specific tracks had a lot to live up to in the series ever since Wings from Xenogears, and they definitely went for gold with this one. Anyone else turn their booster on specifically at 0:13?

Oh yea. God of War was good... but it hasn't this level of greatness. XC3 os the real winner in my book.
Since I heard this in the direct I was so hyped for this theme, cause I assumed it wouls play in some super dramatic cutscene and then I heard the first boat theme and was like nice they remixed the one nice theme from the direct for the boatride. Well I'm fine with the fact that it plays where it plays but its a bit sad because mostly you arent even that long in the boat to hear the nice part. I think in a cutscene it would've been more cooler

My running assumption with the boat theme being unnecessarily cool is that the boat was initially meant to be more important within the story/story-based gameplay - the boat(s) also have multiple cutscenes about their creation that could just as easily have been unvoiced dialogue for how interesting they really weren't, and I'm guessing they had plans that just didn't work out for release.
It DOES play in a super dramatic cutscene! It's just that it is in ingame graphic and the player is made the director of the scene :D

While I loved how the Boundry's music was synced to the speed of the boat and begun to swell as you entered Erythia Sea I absolutely adore how this song does the same thing but is synchronised with the boost mechanic of the Bravery

The entire later part of the game was probably supposed to be much longer, but they ran out of time and just had to rush it.

Funny thing about this track, I never check out the XC3 trailer to avoid spoilers, and because I didn't use the ship very often, I didn't hear this track until I did my last quest at Colony Mu
Needless to say, I was INCREDIBLY confused when the drop hit at 1:57 in-game. Boat music by the way!
