- Riki, who lives at Ueno Zoo, is Momotaro's younger brother.
And Riki is about 12 months older than Kintaro.
The age difference between Riki and Kintaro is only one year, but Riki's body is considerably larger.
I don't think Kintaro a year from now will be as big as Riki now.
Momotaro grew fast, but Gentaro and Kintaro grew slowly.
But for someone like me who wants to see Gentaro and Kintaro's growth for a long time, that makes me happy.

⭐️Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
Born in Ueno Zoo on July 3, 2000.
His father is Biju and his mother is Momoko.
His father died before he was born and he grew up never knowing his father.
He came to Kyoto City Zoo in 2010 and is now a father of two sons.
⭐️Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Born on June 24, 1986 at the Kyoto City Zoo.
Her father is Mack and her mother is Hiromi.
When she was 10 years old, she went to Ueno Zoo for breeding purposes.
But she had a bad relationship with another female gorilla, and she injured her fingers and toes with her self-mutilation and lost a lot of weight.
When she returned to her hometown of Kyoto City Zoo, she was fine, and she lived with various male gorillas.
Then she met Momotaro and she gave birth to two lovely sons whom she lovingly raised.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at the Kyoto City zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
He is very close with his younger brother Kintaro and they play together almost every day.
⭐️Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at Kyoto City Zoo on Dec.19,2018.
He has big bright eyes and long eyebrows.
He is growing fine ,being loved by his parents and brother.

Momotoro kkkkkkkk never saw his half brother so therefore he likes his son better. Kintaro by the way is just a brat.
Riki was born after Momotaro was sent to Kyoto Zoo. Sadly the two brothers have not met, unlike Shabani and Haoko who were close to each other.
Momotaro has never met his brother, he isn't even aware of his existence. Both his sons are much smaller than others their age. I wonder if it is because the area they live in is so small and both have been so severly coddled by Genki, she never let Kintaro move from her arms for months, at a year old he wasn't allowed much play with his brother.
@@bridgetrennie8267is Gentaro that much smaller than Kyomasa. He looks stronger and bigger to me. Also, maybe it's genetic. Momo weighs somewhere around 185kg whereas Shabani is around 225kg I believe
Genki is a very petite gorilla apparently. She looks small on video too, but I read she is really small. Both boys had some early nutritional deficits so it could be that too. Or, maybe they'll do a big growing spurt later.
Every gorilla is unique. Love our handsome guys no matter they are larger or smaller ❤
Kintaro is more handsome and loving his family, especially his mother! God willing I will visit him in Kyoto this September on my vacation to Japan!

As I wouldn't compare human children in families...every gorilla is amazing to me and uncomparable.Different genetics and different habitats and different parents are all factors.I haven't followed Riki since he was born but Kintaro I waited for his birth and have followed him almost everyday since his birth.i think the biggest factor that makes a difference in the baby's growth is the parent's upbringing and their stories.I love them all and consider myself blessed to be able to follow their lives thru these beautiful videos.So thank you to all the great videographers who give me this gift!!!I couldn't start my day without The Lord and a glimpse of how my gorilla families are doing!Thank you to all the friends I have met thru the comment section.💚🦍💚🌄🌻😉

I think Genki kept little Kintaro breast feeding a little to long he had no need to scurge for food but now she pushes him away a lot more .I love him he can count up to 8 I see they added nine on his chart .Gentaro can count up to 18 they scan the chart faster then we can .Lol
Gentaro & kintaro definitely smart! 👏🏻👏🏻 But too bad the zoo are lack of activities for the boys to try out many things. The numbers machine they play are way too outdated that it got lagging a few times which get kintaro mad sometimes 😝 I believe that the boys could discover much more.

Gotta say Kintaro's fearlessness makes him larger than life.
He is perfect as he is.
As you watch him wizz around his home , climb on the roof, jump, spin around and hang upside down on the bars it takes your breath away.
He will fight any foe who gets in his way.
He has a big heart full of love for his family and also the heartt of a warrior.
His dad, mum and brother are survivors and are teaching him well.
He is intelligent, cunning and thoroughly adorable.
He will grow into a Magestic Silverback just like his father.

Momotaro family is my absolute favourite but have recentky been watching Riki and his family and i have ti say watching Riki carry Sumomo around just melts my heart so much but i can guarantee that this would NEVER happen in the Momotaro family troupe if Kintaro was to get a baby brother or sister, i think he would behave not to dissimilar to how Gentaro behaved with him.
And yet they are very close buddies now…❤️

Riki is gargantuan for 5 y/o, but then look at Haoko. Gorillas come in all sizes, shapes and forms. Momo is a smaller silverback so I'm sure Kintaro is taking after him. Doesn't matter, both are awesome like their dads. Riki is Kintaro's uncle, that's funny. 🤣💞

The size difference has to do with Riki's father Haoko being a huge silver back. They are both very cute. Kintaro is so darling and i think Sumomo looks him.
Just like in actual human beings genetic lineage also plays a part in the physical development of the offsprings. Is Riki’s mother not bigger and taller than Genki? Also Riki’s father is bigger than Momotaro. In fact I read Momo is smaller than D’Jeeco and Shabani. One thing is certain though Kintaro and Gentaro are smarter than the children of all the other families and probably stronger especially upper body strength - the Momotaro family are climbers because of their lack of land and space they climb more often.
U got that right 👍🏻 and to compare Sumomo now to kintaro when they're at the same age, kintaro is more smaller. Kintaro & Gentaro physically genetic follow mom, while strength... they got that from dad 💪🏻 and the brothers are good with numbers. Smart 👏🏻👏🏻

Genki is smaller but Momo isn't. Momo is only 3lbs less than Shabani as of May. Hes also younger and still growing. He was 9lbs heavier and 3 inches taller than D'jeeco in December 2022. I haven't seen updates on D'jeeco recently but he doesn't look like he's gained more weight since then. Momo is above average in size.

Riki looks like a teenager, Handsome and Kin looks a kid. Gentaro even though he's over 10 yrs, still look young. Kyoto kids his eyes are sweeter.

Riki at 5 is growing into his big boy face while Kintaro still looks like a baby. I'm pretty sure he will physically change in the next year. Look at your own kids and how they changed over time. Also, physically Haoko and Momoko are very large physically, while Momo and Genki are considered to be small. Size differences just like human primates.
I think Momotaro is huge, Haoko has more hair but Momotaro looks like he is about the same size. Riki will probably follow the steps of his older brother and turn into an adult pretty quick.
Riki is a year older then Kintaro which is a lot for them just look at Gentaro.Also Genki baby’s him and I think the other Gorillas get fed better then this zoo

Riki and his siblings are big and healthy, Momoko isn't over motherly and raises her babies to be independent.
Kintaro is exceptionally smaller than the average male gorilla of his age...I think it's because Genki has a small body habitus and so does Momotaro.
Kintaro is still attached to his mother especially when he gets scared.
Riki is already strong and independent, maybe in another year Kintaro will start showing that independence and follow his brothers lead.
It's two very different upbringings by two very different mothers.
Genki is different.
I think both Kintaro and Gentaro are simply developing more slowly. Who knows what the exact causes are. I think in the end they will be normal sized though.
Both Momoko and Haoko are bigger than Genki and Momo, its just different genetics.

No voy a comparar, son dos gorilas diferentes, miembros de familias diferentes. Yo❤ amo a Kintaro y es un niño de aspecto tierno, Genki es una madre que lo cuida muy bien y no pueden tener el mismo desarrollo porque sus condiciones no son iguales. La familia Momotaro es una familia pequeña y muy apreciada por mí y el otro gorila tiene sus cualidades pero cada uno es un ser independiente y con un temperamento único, dos personalidades Riki más rudo y Kintaro más cariñoso.

I think Ricki and Kintaro look alike in some ways. Ricki looks like Momoko. Momoka looks like her Auntie Shinda in Prague! Kintaro and Gentaro have a lot of Genkis cute little traits - her dancing and the way they run etc. Apparently Hakao is a huge gorilla!

@@user-yf9vd7nq2y Gorillas have many feet of intestines, because their diet is herbivore except for a few ants, etc. Way more feet then ours, the cellulose has to break down, and a chemical process in their blood with bacteria turns it into muscle mass as well as nutrition for other reasons. That’s why they need to eat a lot. Momo needs at least 60 lbs. of food a day. Their chest will always be smaller than their belly.

お父さんが違うし、ハオコさんは日本一大きいシルバーバックですし、上野動物園は食料が豊富ですし、第一放飼場と第二と二つもありますし、叔父と甥でも食料事情や環境も違います。リキ君は次男との事ですが上のお姉さん達に大切に可愛がられてのびのびと育ち、愛されキャラの大物のキンちゃんとは全然違いますね。どちらも唯一無二の存在だと思います。

I think it has something to do about with Genki she obviously a gorilla of course but doesn't look like every female gorilla, there's something a little bit different with her and the others we see around gorillas families, also with Genki's mother. Kintaro also looks like more tender and childish, as he was grown with so much love, I bet he'll become a special father... By the way, he couldn't be engaged with Sumomo, can he?
@brovaco Sumomo is his Aunt, so no they can't be paired together. Momoko (Sumomo's Mother) is also Momotaro's Mother

The diet is a big issue momotaros place DO NOT feed them variety of much needed nutrients, I'm watching every video and I never see many different variety of foods, the bloated bellys tells a story about what they eat .they need to have a lot of chances to been done and I'm happy to say they already started 😊
Forest & wild gorilla have the same physical body just like momo and family. What I've seen from Kyoto zoo they're fed mostly with vegetables & sometime fruits. Pretty sure they do poop a lot too. Other gorillas from different zoo they weight too light for gorilla and that's worries me a lot. My pov probably would be their home. They're too small & not much activities for them to do. I'm wondering too what kind of nutrients are allowed for gorilla to consume.
Those are not bloated bellies. Gorillas have many feet of intestines, because their diet is herbivore except for a few ants, etc. Way more feet then ours, the cellulose has to break down, and a chemical process in their blood with bacteria turns it into muscle mass as well as nutrition for other reasons. That’s why they need to eat a lot. Momo needs at least 60 lbs. of food a day. Their chest will always be smaller than their belly.
@@coi6211 The Japanese zoo's I'm sure follow the recommendations of the gorilla preservation group that have guidelines for all accredited zoos globally. They are very protective of their gorilla families. Every zoo works very hard to comply. Daily they get 30 to 80 pounds depending on the individual. Gorillas are herbivores, thus their potbellies . They do get fruits but they are treats, they can increase tooth decay.
They need to arrange a play day for Riki and Kintro wonder if they would play
Los animales como las personas no siempre salen altos , Kintaro es por el momento más pequeño, la familia Momotaro ,Genki, Gentaro ,Kintaro, son muy mimados en el zoológico de kioto , por sus cuidadores , y es una familia que no viven con otros animales de su raza , como en otros zoológico, quizás pueda ser un motivo , o que por el momento no se halla desarrollado más , hay que esperar un poco más, aún asín es hermoso .❤

The food is richer and more varied in the zoos hosting Riki and Kiyomasa than in that of Kintaro, Gentaro, this partly explains the difference in development.
I don’t think they get the proper nourishment not enough food but a lot

Riki whole lifestyle is more healthy. There's so much going on with the other family that's not ok. It's just nasty.
Agree, I watch both troops/families and the food seems to be a better nutritional selection. But, also there is genetics, Haoko is "the largest gorilla in Japan" and Riki is his son. Like father, like son! Whatever size, Kintaro has my heart.💌

Yes but Gentaro is big and strong, I would lean more towards Kintaro's specific genetics - he may just be a small gorilla, like we get both big and small people. Plus Genki is a small gorilla albeit a very fat one.
I think Kintaro has always been small, especially compared to Gentaro when he was the same age

No creo necesaria la comparación. Hay que estar atento a ls genética. Momótaro es muy grande y fuerte y Ricky es su hermano,pero la madre de Kintaro tiene una situación diferente. Genky no podía concebir fácilmente y tuvo dificultades para amamantar a Gentaro,además de otras discapacidades. Así que no caben las comparaciones. Y actualmente vemos cuan fuerte está Gentaro. Así que cada familia tiene su genética y el ambiente y otras condiciones varían en cada caso.

Kintaro is behind about 3 yrs. behind in maturity age. He's still a baby. Ricky is mature for his age cause his parents don't pamper him plus his siblings help him to grow up. Ricky is also a very active gorilla so it helps keep him physically fit. The whole troop are big boned gorillas.
Look at the spaces they live in. Poor Kintaro has a very small space and just his parents and brother. The other guy has open outdoor space and tons of family!!!
Gentaro born 2011, Kentaro born 2018. Riki about a year older than Kentaro.

Riki dad is Hugh, it only stands to reason he would be also. Mo is muscular, as are his sons. I personally love the Momotaro troop, but Haoko seems to be the more interactive Dad and mate.

Shabani plays with his children, Momotaro plays a little with Kintaro but very rarely interacts with Gentaro except to discipline him for rampaging. Momotaro never had a chance to learn this behavior, or others, from his father.

We as viewers only see what the videographer posts. There are many vids of Momo playing with Gentaro when he was a youngster. Momo and Shabani are both being dad but distancing themselves from their sons because they are now blackbacks. Both have allowed their sons to be their seconds in command but discipline can seem harsh to maintain order. Gorilla society.
@@yvonnejones9940 Though Shabani plays with Kiyomasa quite regularly, as he does with all his children. Momotaro gets no affection from Genki and spends most of his time alone.
