This all aged well. The “Story” is even better than last year
The LA Knight idea would've been better than subjecting Shane to blowing out his quad 😂
Oh so his advocating for young talent too ? Just like the neckbeard code demands !? His definitely a aew fanboy, he needs to stop lying 😅
It's a McMahon tradition. In 20 years Stephanie will wrestle Becky's kid Roux and she'll slide into the ring and blow out her quad.
Yeah Sofi was craving to see him
@@jleffel6969 Will the McMahons overtake Nash in the blowing out the quad jokes? 🤔

Everyone forgets Triple H also blew out his quad on Raw in 2001. It's a McMahon/Helmsley tradition! 🤣
I don’t think a wrestling company has ever gone from such a high to such a low in 48 hours. This is WCW levels of impressive.
Until Vince is truly gone out of the WWE system the problem will never be cured
Try thinking for yourself for once instead of just agreeing with robots.
WCW never had a high, unless you consider the last 5 seconds of Nitro every week a high.
End of WM17 and the following RAW was a 48 hour downward cliff slope the likes that hasn’t been seen since
I'm so confused, why is everyone upset? Bc Cody didn't win? Lmao bro get the fck over it. I'm sure there is a bigger story in place, be patient. Y'all wrestling fans suck today I miss the attitude era fans so much
After day 2 ended, the adrenaline truly left my soul. RIP Cody. In another couple of weeks we'll be welcoming back Stardust.
Right now he is just Gay John Cena. Atleast Stardust was a unique character
Maybe he will give him the yellow polka dot gimmick
It's in his contract to not change gimmicks.
Why are you guys being so hyperbolic? Everyone who loses to Roman reigns automatically turns into Kofimania? Y'all gotta chill lol

I wasn't mad Roman won. Shocked yes, but not mad. What I mostly had a problem with was that Roman won the same way and it's getting stale. At this point you can predict the finish of a Roman match.
Bingo. I was mad about him winning, but more mad about HOW he won. Same thing we’ve gotten for 3 years. Laaaazy booking.
I'm starting to get late wcw vibes from it now. Always Interference finishes and overbooked messes to keep milking something until there's no milk left.
@@chrisradzion2148 part of me thinks that's the point. When he was first champ he was winning dominant. But it his heel tactics aren't as effective. At some point he'll have to face someone legit one on one and lose. Or get schemes out of the title himself.
So... the "Road to Wrestlemania" is just a round-a-bout?
More like a dead end 💀
Lesner v. Lashley 2 in a Fight Pit Match would have been gold.

My favourite part is Corny doing the Vince McMahon impression and calling Shane O'Mac "pal" 😂😂
I could see why on a personal level, HHH and/or VKM wouldn't want to put the belt on Cody at WM, but I'm having a damned hard time seeing how not capitalizing on that momentum was good for business.
I will continue to ingest my wrestling through clips, wrestling news, and this podcast only. WWE may be getting some of my attention, but they ain't getting my money.

THERE WAS NO MOMENTUM!
Dude a buddy of mine and me said something of the same earlier at work this morning
I absolutely feel the same after watching the Raw after Mania! I'm in the minority that wanted Roman to win but by god Cody put up a helluva fight very impressive. But once again Vince in charge they destroyed Cody on Mon Raw! WTF?
The problem might not be that Cody needs the belt so much as Roman absolutely does. Roman has a Goldberg problem. If he loses the belt, his Tribal Chief gimmick means nothing. As strong as his character work is, it hinges critically on him having the belt. I don't know how he survives losing it without going away and coming back a babyface.
Creatively...it felt like what was the point of all the doubts about the Bloodline and Jey's loyalty and why he was talking to Solo alone or talking to Jey alone or him being worried about "what Cody represents" only to have everyone do the exact same thing they always do...help Roman retain? What was the point of all of those stories up to that point?
The experiment has been going on too long to back out, he works as a heel but needs the stakes of a belt you’re right. It took a serious medical problem for people to start to like him when he should’ve been heel from the get go, he doesn’t have the technical skill or charisma of Seth who can manage both. Without his boasting “the best” thing and relishing being out first by the company he just can’t hang.
He’s done anyway full time. Once he loses the belt he feuds with Jey puts him over then leaves for Hollywood.
It's been like 3 years, gimmicks don't need to last forever.
Shane McMahon should have main evented WrestleMania night 2
That young upstart, Shane McMahon
He did, in his own way.
I keep saying this but Shane should have bought a jacket and thrown it down in anger before blowing both off his quads.

It was a cool night, at Sofi stadium. The script was written. The finale was to be, Cody defeats Roman Reigns with three cross roads. The count of 3. The celebration of a life time. The story arch of an generational talent finally coming to fruition. Brandi and the Rhodes family come to the ring to celebrate the momentous win. The story, now finished. The end of a Roman Empire. The death of the Bloodline championship reign. However, hours prior to this ending, Triple H at gorilla going over the script one last time and thinks to himself “Man, that’s good shit” as he turns the final page and waits for the WWE universe reaction of this brilliant story telling, of “finishing the story”
Out of nowhere, the water next to Triple H, starts to pulsate feeling as if a T-Rex was approaching as foot steps are heard from a distance. Triple H gets a knot in his throat as he sees what’s coming straight at him. There stands Gomez Adams… err sorry. Vince McMahon. Vince comes walking towards Triple H and reaches out his hand and let’s a gravel “How ya doin pal?” Triple H grins ear to ear and responds with “Hi dad” Vince looks at the table and see’s the WrestleMania script. He picks it up and turns to the page called “Finishing the story” and reads the end. Vince’s expression changes instantly and looks at Paul and goes “Really, Paul? As long as I’m in charge pal, a RHODES will never be the FACE of WWE” Vince pulls out a black and yellow ball point pen out his coat jacket and draws a line out of the finish to the main event and writes “Cross Rhodes 2x, interference with Sikoa spike, Roman Spear, 3 count” Vince slams the script on the table, fixes his tie, looks at Paul and clears his throat and belts out “NOW THATS SOME GOOD SHIT” Vince starts to walk away and stops mid step, turns and looks at Triple H who is beyond distraught with this new ending. Vince says “Now, make them happy” as he flamboyantly struts away as the original ending to a brilliant story was just changed at the last minute to piss off an entire stadium and most of the world.

I didn't mind Roman winning. I think Cody should've won but Reigns retaining wasn't a problem. the way they had him retain was. get creative, it's the main event of Mania. maybe a title shot (literal) or any other dirty way. maybe with some object Cody carried. something different.

Every single defense of Cody losing that I have read for the last few days has been steeped in the same WWE way of doing things that that has created a lost decade for creating big star talent. Reigns was the Wrestlemania main event 7 times 30-39 decade, is the only wrestler to bring and retain the top championship 3 years in a row, has gone over on everyone, is solidified as the top of the top company and not a single person on the street has any idea who he is.
Knockoff Aquaman
inaccurate on some of your points. People know who roman is. Cody was stale the last 3 appearances in his promos so i can see why the booking would be to swerve the way they did. you are accurate in that WWE have no one to beat roman bc they didn't foster anyone over the last few years like they did with in the 90s with Shawn over Bret and Warrior over Hogan. Brock v Roman 29628746 tho is just lazy if that's the route they eventually go and it'll be disappointing but Cody wasn't the answer.

As an indian, I can attest few indians care about Jinder Mahal. Roman Reigns has more fans in india.
There is only so many times WWE can have Roman defend the titles due to his cousins interfering before it gets stale and people start to lose interest.
I’d almost prefer for the entire bloodline to break apart and have Roman carry the titles the final few months entirely alone. No shady finishes, clean victories only after long wars. Wouldn’t be surprised if that organically turns him face. The story could turn into Roman being the last one of the bloodline standing who refuses to lose. It’s insane what a string of clean victories could do for him.
Still baffled why people thought *_Cody_* was going to be crowned as the guy rather than fed to Roman. Bizarre.
Exactly
I honestly don't know what the hell they are thinking. Cody should have gone over. If this thing ends with Theory beating Reigns I will gouge my eyes out. We all know Vince loves Theory and Vince loves to pound people down our throats until we like them.

Finn and Edge had to be halted for five minutes because Finn lead with his head on a ladder spot.

It felt like the right time to bring down the Bloodline completely. I honestly can't be arsed with another whole year of Roman wins via Bloodline interference rinse and repeat. I feel like we're entertaining nWo Wolfpac/Hollywood stages of this Bloodline story - basically running longer than necessary.
My thoughts exactly
This is once in 40 years title run. This will never happen again in history
There’s only so long a story can run before people lose interest. If it drags on even longer than it should have that’s when people demand for the story to end.
Don’t be surprised if things drag out even longer. Roman’s been champion for about what 950 days? No doubt Vince and Triple H will want Roman to reach 1000 days. What if they want him to remain champion long enough until he breaks Bruno Sammartino’s record as champion? That would mean putting up with Roman for a good 5 years. And people (most of them) are already tired of Roman. Whilst Roman losing the belts at SummerSlam or whatever event moving forward won’t have the same impact as at Wrestlemania, people will still wish for the end regardless.
I guess we’ll just have to see what happens moving forward.

First and foremost I DESPISE Vince McMahon not for his creative but because of the shady crap he’s pulled for decades. That being said I’ve never seen where Cody is all that great. There’s no really great way to get to it, but Gunther should be the one to beat Roman. He’s ready and that rumble performance was actually kinda heroic, even if he is supposed to be a dominant heel.
Vince has done nothing wrong. It's not your business anyway.
Cody was just a bump in the road.
I was there for Night 2, and I was surprised to see Roman go over. For the Shane incident, I was still clueless to what happened, and was thinking Miz was setting up his Skull Crushing Finale. The multi-tag for the Woman’s match was boring that a bunch of people from my section left to take a piss and buy more beer. Overall, Night 2 wasn’t as bad as people say it was.
Poor Shane.
Here he comes... and there he goes!!
At this point, I'm guessing Bron Breaker ends the bloodline. I mean, who else is left? I don't see Rollins doing it. That would be anti climatic. I'd LOVE to see Gunther do it, but that's highly unlikely. The rock makes sense, but he doesn't need the win. I'd have Roman go over the rock to truly become the head of the table and then Roman says Noone is left and boom the siren fills the arena and Bron breakker makes his debut gets in the face of Reigns. They can focus on the whole spear vs. spear thing again and have him go over Roman, and there you go. You got a NEW star who is young and marketable and who the Machine can get behind

I’d be willing to bet that Joe Walsh was indeed performing at that very show. I’m glad Jim made mention of that here because I find that piece of info to be noteworthy.
You’d think after nearly 1000 days as champion and winning most, if not all his matches with his cousins help that someone would’ve learnt “maybe i should cripple them first?”. They’ve booked every single opponent for Roman like an idiot and with few exceptions looking worse off. The idea was probably to have Roman as a champion for 1000 days. Wish they would’ve found the idea to split the belts, because having a modern day champ for 1000 days is truly remarcable, but in reality, it’s imposslible without having a weird and flat finish. You could maybe do 2 seperate matches, but that would telegraph the splitting of belts.
at RR, traditionally you would only challenge for one world title if you won. maybe they could have done something where cody is only allowed to go for the WWE championship
@@hey01e5 And it would make sense in the story for Cody to want specifically the WWE title too.
i tried to take a step back the last few days and look at roman winning/Cody loosing and think what the big picture is that creative is going for, but just i dont see anything. Cody had alot behind him. he was a natural babyface who got and gave energy to the crowd. giving him the belts would of put a babyface as the top guy in the company and allowed them to do things that you cant do with a heel in that position. (no one wants to see the big bad evil wrestler going to make a wish foundation events for children) plus i love Roman as the heel.. but its been 3 years with him being the heel on defense.. lets see him and bloodline take the role of the heel going for the belts. but you can tell theres not good heat for this. its getting stale. Sting even exposed you fools talking about the outcomes of the matches vs the match itself.
@@austin31697 oh your right that match was soo invigorating and unique . i loved how they went back and forth and kicked out of eachothers finishers just to have the match end with interference from one of the bloodline members. so different then all the others. @@austin31697 you can sit here with your elitist attitude all you want.. WWE needs people watching.. that win made people turn off the TV it didnt make good heat. it made bad heat. there wasnt boos after roman won.. it was just silent. people are getting sick of it.

Karl Anderson does an amazing impression of the Honky Tonk Man. If that is how you spell it! LOL I think it was actually from a Talk N' Shop they did with Jericho. I used to like Jericho. That feels like a life time ago now.
I felt bad for Shane. I was like, "OMG he's so his father's son." That could be the last time we ever see Shane and that's the memory we'll have.
Where does Cody go from here? Brock... And lots of pain.
They might as well end Cody's story now . Let him keep some of his dignity
After Roman retained I cancelled Peacock, I need a break from this. WWE had the perfect end for Cody vs Roman and they blew it. I can't watch 6 more months of the same story.
😂😂😂
You like fast food over filet mignon. Typical mark! Stick to AEW
I just think they want to get Roman over 1,000 days as champion plus they want to keep the bloodline going until SummerSlam, what else is nearly as big as this program?
It never ends
I feel like the bigger problem is that they have nothing to replace this program when people eventually get sick of it (which some already are). WWE got this so right this time and they don't wanna give it up because every other storyline on their shows is significantly worse than the Bloodline.
I like The Bloodline & I don't think they should split them now but we do need some change, the titles need to be seperated.
@@ChrizzyYeahh new belts too
It's impressive how often jim can bring up the same old stories from the territory days and go off on a 15 minute tangent about it
And next, we get Cody Rhodes getting squashed by Brock Lesnar. Welp, was fun while it lasted.
I guess I understand Triple H's movie logic as far as Cody is concerned. Whenever the hero meets the villain, he usually loses the first few encounters, powers up, then eventually triumphs.
In All honesty has that ever truly worked. Triple h said that in 2015 about Daniel Bryan & look what happened. I think that's been one of wwe's greatest detriments. They don't know when to pull the trigger. Tna had that problem too for a while back in 07 08.
So WWE is doing the Rocky storyline that moxley likes
We know how Vince thinks... we could squeeze another year or two out of this Cody thing pal
@@RKOY2J2792 Roman lost at WM after winning the RR, and he lost to Brock plenty of times as face before he finally beat him. And now look where he's at. Yes, it definitely has worked. You have a very selective memory.
@@decepticonxhunter4850 My Memory's great. The reason Roman is where he at is because they finally let him be natural. All the stuff you talking about were during the years they were forcing him & he lost some great years because of it. Winning & Losing didn't affect him as much cuz wwe was never gonna give up on him & you see they sacrificed almost the last 10 years as a result. Wrestling is a unique artform that relies on timing. So when you got somebody primed & ready & the fans are meeting you halfway & they lose. It's very hard to get that back is ultimate point.

It’s as if HHH booked Night 1 and Vince booked Night 2. I’m probably not far off from the truth.
Triple threat seems like hunter tho
idk honestly. Cody was a Vince signing. highkey think HHH still has a grudge for Cody
@@m1r__ Vince signed Cody when he was starting out. Since then Cody helped create AEW which made WWE pay more for talent just so they wouldn’t be in AEW. Vince is petty like that. I think HHH is going to do what’s best for business and I don’t blame him, I blame Vince. Seriously, who do they have left to be a credible threat to challenge Reigns now? He’s beaten all the main event talent and some Paul who isn’t a main event guy.
@@rccomics no vince brought cody back, he's the one that gave cody his contract, you're just mad that vince is back
The funny thing about ppl who complain about Night 2 looking like Vince's booking is that he would've had Cody go over on Roman for the sake of a feel good WM moment. You're actually extremely far from the truth because Roman is the guy HHH wants to build around for the time being. It should've been obvious to everybody, given the way HHH introduced Roman on Raw.
The worst thing about main event is that's two in a row where fans went silent when match was over. They were really cheering for Sammy Zayn, I get it he didn't look like the most convincing guy to beat him. But now we talking about Wrestlemania, they booked the story well in a limited time. Do they think Jey Uso beating Roman will have the fans reaction bigger than Zayn/Cody? If those two don't deserve the titles, then neither does Jey look like he'd deserve. Maybe if this was right after Royal Rumble again where fans were excited about what would Jey do next.
What makes no sense is that the heel winning the big show and "the money's in the chase" and all that isn't the WWE's traditional business model. For decades their model was that the babyface, be that Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart or Steve Austin, was typically the champion and defended against the heels. The top face is the hero that fans come to see. Heels get built up as possible threats but the hero ends up overcoming them. Sometimes the heel gets the title but it's either to transition to the new babyface champ or it's a temporary situation so that the hero can come back and vanquish an evil that was so powerful that it upset the status quo. The transition to heel champions corresponds with the promotion's diminished popularity and, surely by coincidence, correlates with the rise of a certain son-in-law who tended to work as a heel. Well we're years removed from needing to change the rules to give Triple H excuses to go over so let the babyface win the title in the biggest match of the year. The WWF was never more popular than it was during the Hogan years and the Attitude era and in those days the hero winning the big match was the convention. Why does this company insist on sticking to conventions they established AFTER their most successful eras? Hey our business started to tank in 2003 so let's use THAT as our business model from now on!
The internet reaction is very “best match ever” or “it was utter garbage” for every single match these days - so much of the fandom would be better if people could better accept something middle of the road without feeling they have to bury it or call it the best thing since Sprite.
