Possibly the most honest fishing channel on CZcams.
Bro, I love that someone, at least sometimes, sounds like me when fishing... except you cuss less haha. Much respect!
On camera anyway..😅
Loved your honest reaction. So many fake people try to act like it's always SO easy. I don't think so. Nice to see you're not afraid to voice it.
HA, dude the rage rant was too funny! Glad you caught all 3 species!😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed🤙
I feel the pain with the Flys 😂 every time I take my fly rod out to a small stream, I get snagged up on everything. The struggle is real! It's good to see that I'm not the only one 😂
No you are not😅
look i’m trying not to rub it in i swear but i have to admit it’s awfully validating to hear someone who fishes as much as you get as pissed as me who is much newer about losing gear over and over. so much content looks like is clean and fun and games but there’s often a lot of pain involved that’s for sure hahaha
love the vids man, cheers from Australia ❤
Yeah I guess no matter how experienced you get you’ll always mess up here and there.
Completely understand the rage my friend lol. I'm pretty sure those were leopard frogs. I use to catch those when I was a kid. Only difference is the ones I caught had an orange stripes down their backs.
I want to keep one as a pet lol
The ones you used to catch are called pickle frogs they looks really similar
@@bassntroutfishingfind one at a fish spot and feed it a worm every time you go there. You’ll have a frog friend that you can visit, even better than a pet. I used to go see this one frog on my lunch break and I’d always try to find a bug to throw to it. After a while it started coming over to see me whenever I showed up. Then there was another frog I met at a fishing spot, fed it a worm, and it sat a few feet away from me in the same spot for over an hour waiting for more food.
What fly do I want to lose next?? 😂😂😂 We all go there ! 🤣
I’m a fly addict 😂 so I find your frustrations with fly fishing humorous haha but believe me I’ve lost plenty of flies in stupid situations too! However, I went to some high elevation lakes this past weekend and didn’t see a single other person on a fly rod or normal spinning rod catch a fish but I was catching fish left and right, it was fun!
My suggestion is if you see a fish hit your indicator, tie on a dry/dropper setup! Best of both worlds, get some on top, and some below. It’s great!
I will try that! I don’t have a ton of confidence with dry flies yet. It seems like every time I try I don’t even get a bite..
I just started fly fishing and losing flys is absolutely the most frustrating. It makes me feel better that a seasoned angler can have the same problems.
No matter how good you are I guess you’ll still have those days..
I’m getting lessons to learn how to cast and then I’m going to start but besides that I’m planning to go to Virginia to go
Almost 40 years at it and I still do it regularly! As well as casting the line in a heap in front of me on the lake lol! There's not an angler who doesn't do 8t occasionally lol!
“I am ready to be hurt again” so relatable man 😂
Leopard frog!
Were common when I was a kid in the 50s. Fly fishing teaches you patience. At Panguitch yesterday and got snapped of twice by big tigers. Snow cone or black Zebra midge.😀
They were everywhere at this creek! And a couple lakes I fished this summer was full of them to.
Creek, camping and ice fishing videos are my favorite. Fly fishing or not 😅. Also when you fish for other species.
Awesome I’m glad you like them! More creek fishing coming in the next month or so!
Another winner, nice video 👍🏻
I've felt that way almost every time I pick up a flybrod but the pay off in return makes it all worth while tesys ur patience and is almost like a therapy really to me meway
Yeah, you feel like a total failure until you start catching fish😅
Sweet video dude, your the BEST fisherman in the whole world
Thanks buddy!!
You said "a little bit of butter" 😂
Lol the fly fishing rant haha! All I do is fish a small creek near my house. And it’s not a successful outing until you have one or two of these rants lol
Yep I agree
LOVE THE CHANNEL BRO KEEP IT UP YOUR DOING GREAT
Love your videos. When it comes to fly fishing small creeks and streams, I’d recommend using a dry - dropper rig set up. Try a terrestrial or a small dry like an Adam’s or elk hair for the top water. Then use a small hairs ear or flash back pheasant tail for the dropper. Love this method for small creeks. Seems easier for me than using a strike Indicator and running nymphs behind it….especially in a small creek. Keep the videos coming. Im living vicariously through you :)
Maybe a small top water frog pattern would produce some big hits in this stream too lol
And use the dry dropper set up without an actual strike indicator. Just use your dry fly for the indicator. I found I have way less tangles and catch way more fish with this set up in smaller brushy creeks
This winter I’ll fish streams a lot more often, I’ll have to try that set up then!
Losing thay many flys definitely hurts but im ready for the spinning rod content
Just found your channel. Love it.
The frog that you found is a harm less leopard frog. You also could have keep the frog as a pet.
Love the video!! Yes it is very frustrating to lose so many flies! Not to mention when you also brake your tip on your fly rod! I broke my tip like the third time I used my Orvis fly rod on a snag. $60 to replace the tip. Broke the but end next another $60 for that then the tip again on a small brown trout! I returned that rod to Orvis as a dissatisfied customer.
As for flies! That’s why so many fly fisherman also Ty flies!😀
Yeah I have a fly tying kit but I’ve been to busy fishing everyday I haven’t taken the time to learn yet😅
@@bassntroutfishing tying flies for most fishermen is winter when you can’t get out and fish.
I really enjoyed your catch & cook after fishing those beautiful trout, so, subscribed!
Thanks for the sub!
@@bassntroutfishing My pleasure!
You can try tenkara gear for narrow streams. Of course you will loose flies to but since the line length is sorter, you might loose less!
I've been looking forward to this!!! Yeeeeeewwwwww!!!
Cool video. I would like to see more spinning set up videos. And possibly some BFS fishing videos would be awesome! 👍🏼
Yeah I need to get back to my roots and take a break from fly fishing for a month or two.
Dang bro with the banks like that and the vegation making cover for the fish and the overcast skis also the stained water I would of chucked some bigger streamers or wooly buggers for the bigger aggressive fish. That first section of water you fish in this video looks perfect and would hold some big trout. Just saying
Yeah a wooly bugger probably would have been the best bet looking back..
Trifecta ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome video
Appreciate the video man!! You should come to Wisco sometime. Trout, salmon, walleye, perch, crappie, bass, gills, perch, you name it!!
Northern pike!!!
Maybe one day!
here for another banger
🔥
Awesome 👌
Thanks!
Trout taste like trout . the only thing different is the name . Rainbow brown and tiger 👍👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣🎣 thanks for the taste test
Thanks for watching!
I'll always prefer rainbows. I've never had a bad-tasting one. And you can find out if those frogs are poisonous by licking them.
Yeah there is that..
Another great video my friend ! You were killing me smalls. Anybody that’s going to fish in the brush is bound to be caught up. I can totally relate to the rage. Been there done that. Great little creek. Nice fish, especially the rainbow !
Next Tim don’t forget some rub. I’d do my fish and fowl for that style of cooking. Dee-lish ! Fish on dude and don’t beat yourself up. Hell people drop that on golf everyday 🙃
😅thanks for watching Tim. I will bring the rub next time!
@@bassntroutfishing SWEET !
Lol yeah that’s the spirit I complain also I hate snags. Fish on!😂
Dude frost bite mtn dew is gotta be my favorite so far. By the way, I feel you on the fly fishing I lost a whole pack of flys on a trip due too the trees grabbing them while I cast
Agreed. Yeah lost 7 flies yesterday, but I caught some good fish so I guess it balances out.
im defenitly subbing because of your struggling makes me laugh so hard because you sound like me so much
Nice fishing 🎣
Thanks 👍
Tiny stream fly fishing!!! The current seems moderate and the water seems not that clear. Like this kind of location, I would use terrestrial flies (such as grass hopper and beetle) to catch trouts.
That’s what everyone is saying! I’ll keep it in mind!
Try using a big bushy hopper as your indicator and tie a nymph on a leader on the bend of the hook. The old dry dropper combo. That way, when they hit the indicator, it's got a hook in it. And I feel your pain on the overhanging branches and fly rod combo. Good way to learn new swear words.
Ha ha true. I think next time I go to a creek I’ll just use an ultra light spinning rod😅
Buy some flies off lively legz man they’re my absolute favorite and I love they’re nymphs and egg imitations! And they’re not that bad for cost!
I’ll check them out!
@@bassntroutfishing you definitely won’t regret it double trouble nymph paired with one of there y2k eggs I love them
We all have had days like this. Maybe not missing that many. Lol
Bro u had me laughing when you were pissed about losing ur gear..... and i only say i laughed because i know your pain brother its so frustrating. Good video though 👌 wld love to try a tiger some day
Haha I knew some people would get a kick out of it. Others not so much.😅
God Bless thanks 👊👍✋
New here first time watching definitely would fish with you my guy
Welcome aboard!
If they grab your indicator, that's an indication... to tie a dry fly on. 😄
good video
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Once again, whenever he says he’s gonna keep a fish, he loses it 😂 5:25
Try Tenkara fly fishing on small stream. Way less frustrating. I've caught lots of trout on a 7 foot $15 Amazon tenkara pole.
I’ve heard of tenkara, never tried it. After my fly fishing addiction maybe I’ll pick that up next.
In all honesty, I bought the southbend fly kit for $7 from Walmart and I get good results.
Something worth trying is a tenkara rod, they are made for small creeks. They are delicate but made of multiple sections so replacement parts are cheap
While those frogs are cool, please remember that their skin can absorb the oils that are on your skin, there is always a possibility that you could have some chemicals on your hands that could harm them. Also, when flyfishing streams and setting the hook, try strip setting if your stripping hand is gripping the line, you won't get tangled that way.
banger vid bro
Thanks🤘
What size indicator did you use in this video?
I set a limit of 5 flies and then call it a day.... We all go through the same thing but dude, not worth the rage..... Hahaha
Ha if that were my limit I wouldn’t ever catch a fish.
Hey man, I really enjoy watching your videos! Thank you for the content you put out. Any T-shirts available?
No not yet. We’ll see. Trying to find some cool designs. Will definitely let people know when I have some👍🏼
Rainbow trout are very tasty
We keep going back because the tug is the drug!!!
Yep. It’s an actual addiction..
@@bassntroutfishing
Did you look at your email?
Please 🙏🥺 do catch and release only for once in memory of that late 15 pound tiger trout and other dead fishes from that drained lake
lol man in bass fishing where crankbaits are 6$ plus.... it hurts lol anything with treble hooks is $5 plus and they get stuck on everything :(
Wooooooo bro we could be related 😅 the loss of money is not funny but you made me laugh at the ranting and anger we all experience this if not you ain't got a pulse !!! Frogs are cool 🐸
Ha ha. Glad you enjoyed
The smaller water or creek section your fishing is perfect for a hopper dropper rig. Do you ever fish hoppers / Beatles / ants terrestrials? Big foam flys? Or dry droppers? That’s perfect water for that and time of the year. Just wondering
No I haven’t but that’s what everyone’s telling me so there must be something to it😅
GBD hash browns , golden brown and delicious
🔥
Break the tip of the rod off on sagebrush , oh yea pissed .😂21 min. In
Great video. What is your favorite trout to eat?
All of them depending on where the come from. But I had smoked lake trout one time and it was AMAZING
Yeah it sucks man definitely but it’s just how the game works. Good content fish on brother
The last Rainbow trout I ate was little mushy but I think it was a stalk Rainbow. Maybe That's why it was mushy. I thought for sure the brown was going to win. I was wrong. sorry you lost so much gear. frustrating for sure.
I was thinking that to, but I’m wondering if the season has something to do with it.
That is a "Smart Frog"
Where did u fish????
Throw dry flies when they bite the indicator
My favorite tasting fish is fresh salmon and believe it or not fresh bluegill though scaling and cleaning is a mess. I buy frozen and cook wild caught cod and frozen Halibut both of which are pricey but good. Do you know why they don't sell Crappie as I heard they taste great but never ate them?
The hooks might be a little dull
Those frogs are Northern Leopard frogs! Not poisonous at all.
first
🤘
That frog is a southern leopard frog
That frog was a leopard frog I believe
Also those standard little government rainbows are garbage but some farms have really good trout. In California we have a strain of rainbow called the lassen trout stocked in local valley reservoirs and the smallest are about 2lbs with many over 4 or 5 lbs and the meat is bright red and buttery like a salmon and even better than wild stream rainbows. Although the wild fish are pretty good and they're much prettier to look at. Hatchery fish are definitely not aesthetically pleasing fish
sind das zwiebeln?
This makes me wish I knew how to fish
Water a little stain like that is the best
Fly fishing small brushy streams sure does test you and your wallet. At least you got some nice fish though!
Yes it does!
I’ve never seen you this mad before🥲 sorry bro. As a fisherman I truly understand
😅it’s alright
Never fly fished before prefer spin cast fishing as it seems like there is too much line flying everywhere to create problems. I did fish a pond with my brother and there was another guy fly fishing who caught a nice size bass as our live bait resulted in nothing.
The tiger is mushy because you stepped on it
There aren't any poisonous frogs in united states but toads have poison in their bumps but even then it won't hurt you unless of you attempt to eat it.
😢🥺🎣😀
that frog was a leopard frog
pick up a 6.5'-7.5' 3 weight, it will change your opinion on small creek casting
You need a 7ft rod for streams that small. A 9ft rod is a nightmare
Yeah I definitely do
leopard frog
Probably a stupid question but do you hunt ? Like to see a hunting video
Not very much. Fishing is my addiction..
indicator = floater?
How does it possible? Just throw the hook...no pull but automatically fish catch up within 10 seconds😲😲
Try sharping you fly hooks.
Is this in Colorado?
Watch his earlier videos. He tells you which state he fishes in.
I believe that's called a pickerel frog
There everywhere around here
