  • Poets&Quants’ Founder John A. Byrne engages a group of young professionals who have had direct experience with Gies’ iMBA offering. The discussion, on the campus of the University of Illinois, occurred when the students were in town to attend the program’s annual iConverge event when students and alums gather together to take classes, network and enjoy a taste of the campus life they have forgone in favor of the flexibility of an online degree program.

This is one of the most helpful videos regarding the online MBA programs.

It's sort of a remote MBA. Some programs do not have live sessions, this iMBA has a lot of facing via Zoom

The problem is that recruiters still have no idea on how online degrees work (especially when it's an accredited degree from a Top 50 ARWU university). They think that you just watch some videos online and get the degree. I had an interview with a recruiter who told me that my online master degree wasn't real and it was just an online degree that doesn't prove that I've received an education

How would they know it was online? I have never had anyone question the authenticity of my degree. Not. Once. Ever. They don’t ask, I don’t tell. Period.

I had exactly the same experience as the student from Dubai. For me, it is straight from the lab (or factory) to the market, all the techniques that I am, have taken then, I use them directly.

Smartly MBA is the worst, there is absolutely no live interaction and no real exam, no professor, don't waste your money on the executive 12k option, not worth it. Apply for iMBA for 22k, way better it's day and night compared to other programs

How is diversity there? I've heard that like 50% of candidates are Indians and the number may increase to 70%

    program is 90% Indians

as a Vietnamese, I would love to study with a class full of Indians. Because "no matter how good you are, it's always an Indian out there better than you" hahaa. Then the other 10% is enough for diversity, i love it
