    it's amazing how complex kids toys were on the inside back then compared to now, it really is.

    Awww... These toy's from the 80's truly have an innocence to them~ 👍 My favorite was also Elmo but I also alway's loved Big Bird & Cookie Monster~ 💖 Glad you managed to get your Oscar back up & running or moving up & down in can per say lol~ 😅😅😅😅 Do you enjoy toy's / doll's from the 90's & early 2000 era as well? Just curious~ ✌

    I never knew there was a Cookie Monster or Oscar that were released for Big Bird, very fascinating! Do Cookie Monsters cookies detach like clip on and off his body or are they permanently stuck to him?

    Have you ever use the teddy bear cleaner from Build-A-Bear to clean your plush audio-animatronics I use it all the time and it works amazing and it leaves them so soft and it deodorizes them and sanitizes them

    Ooooh, love these repair videos!! It’s so interesting to see how these guys work! One question though, how did you get the cigarette smell off of him?

    • @blueoctopede
      @blueoctopede  Před 3 lety +1

      I sprayed him down with this sanitizer called Vital Oxide and it did the trick! Just sprayed it on everything- the can, his fur.... of course, not enough to saturate the fur or on any of the electronics. I let him air out for a few hours outside too. You can still smell it if you get your nose right up to him, but otherwise you'd never know!

    Those 2 microswitches you speak of, in this context, are what we call limit switches, because they trigger at each end of the track oscar moves on. Other devices use limit switches too, like floppy disk drives, CD players, and automatic doors. A certain young man who used to be very active within the Teddy Ruxpin on CZcams community told me that the mechanism that moves Oscar up and down is very prone to breakages, but since this person made up false stories about other things too, it's difficult to determine whether he was telling the truth or not.

    • @atechchuck
      @atechchuck Před 3 lety

      Boy I have not seen you in a while. Your videos were my fav! Take care!

    • @blueoctopede
      @blueoctopede  Před 3 lety

      Oh interesting! Thank you for the clarification on that! Having experienced it myself, I can see the mechanism being easily breakable, but I don't feel like that would happen during normal play. Perhaps if someone is rough with the toy yes (like that happened to mine), but probably not from him just going up and down normally.

    • @Lachlant1984
      @Lachlant1984 Před 3 lety

      @@blueoctopede OK, well, if I remember correctly, this particular person was telling me that we new batteries Oscar moves too quickly and the mechanism is likely to break, but as I say, this person tended to make up a lot of stories that had questionable reliability, so it's hard to know for sure from them.
