TO HELP YOU ANSWER THE INTERVIEW QUESTION, DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN 3 WORDS, I will cover the following 3 things:
#1. I will explain why the hiring manager is asking you the interview question, describe yourself in 3 words? If you understand why the question is being asked, it allows you to give the perfect answer!
#2. I will give you a list of 12 words you can use to describe yourself in a positive way in your interview and then all you need to do is choose the 3 words that are applicable to you.
#3. I will give you 3 examples of top-scoring answers in a live interview and all you have to do is choose which answer option you think is the strongest.
WHY IS THE HIRING MANAGER ASKING YOU THE INTERVIEW QUESTION, DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN 3 WORDS?
They are asking you this question to assess whether you know yourself, and how you are going to contribute to their company. If you don’t know yourself, and more importantly you can’t describe yourself in 3 words, you probably won’t be able to add value to their team.
Now, whenever you answer the interview question, describe yourself in 3 words, make sure you tell the interviewer how the 3 words you give them will be of benefit to their company in the role.

I’ve been following your channel for about two years now, learning your tips, writing my answers and thanks to your videos I was able to put everything into nice words. About two weeks ago I had a job interview for a company that is very difficult to get into. I felt well prepared, when the interview started, I became relaxed quite easily. Also I noticed that I made my interviewers feel relaxed and curious. My answers were outstanding, I sounded professional and confident. Of course it wasn’t perfect as later on during the interview they asked me a question which I wasn’t prepared to, but thanks to your videos I knew how I had to deal with this situation and I asked to come back to the question. Everything went so well that I left with good vibes and today I received a job offer. Thanks so much for all the tips and great videos! I have some questions:
1. I’ve been rejected from about 50 interviews. (In the last one they found the excuse that I could have given more examples. There must have been 20 to 30 perfectly given interviews with no feedback at all. The feedback I got from a lot of them is that they went for another candidate).
2. Before the pandemic it only took around 4 interviews to secure a new role
3. I went to a top business school and have half a decade of experience working for blue chip companies
4. *I’ve been given the advice by some corporate operatives that I could still somehow secure a role at a top company even if I’ve been unemployed for half a dozen years*
*Is it discrimination? Is it bias because there is money involved? I would just like to know what is going on as I’m being forced to retire early abroad/take a career break in the summer*.
I have been out of a job for about 5 yrs. I totally felt lost on searching for jobs, specially with the interviewing questions. Honestly, just thinking about it gave me anxiety. Your advice and confidence lessons got me my dream job of working in a hospital, I start on November 7 th.
Before your videos I was horrible and unprepared for interviews but I took the time to study and made notes and recorded myself and repeated my answers to questions that might be asked. The crazy thing is the only question they asked out of what I had prepared was “ tell me about yourself “ and just to let you know I ROCKED IT!! The recruiting team were pleasantly surprised and speechless. The reaction and praise I received from the recruiters gave me the confidence I needed to blow my interview out of the water and some of my answers to unpredictable questions shocked them and at the end of the interview they said I scored really high and I would be hearing from them soon. I got a call within 2 days telling me details of my orientation. 😆

I'm not sure how I got your channel but I just cleared my interview for a management position internally within the organisation. I came across it January this year when I started internship with a company, a month after my internship I was invited by the hiring manager for an interview. I came back to this video to get acquainted with the words again as I was preparing and kept rehearsing the three words that resonated more with me. My interviewer didn't ask me directly to describe myself in three words, I was however asked to tell them about myself and paaaw!! I knew that was my moment. I talked briefly about other things and then jumped straight into my rehearsed lines. I could see the lighted expression on the manager's face...she was really impressed. Long story short, I got my appointment letter this afternoon. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into creating this content and others.

I liked the third sample answer most of all because it sounds like the best employee in the world, someone who is constantly looking for new tasks within & outside of the job, getting motivated with the amount of work done, and being trustworthy at the same time, which is a rare combination of values these days. Other than that, the promise to act like a frugal employee may be the final factor that will help the candidate answer this difficult interview question.

I like the way you demonstrated that this question is not intended to be answered with a simple list of three words. Taking the time to expand the answer provides the opportunity to pepper in several of the other words suggested.
