Does a red ring always mean fertile?

I would imagine. If the red ring is an embryo you typically would not see an embryo in a infertile egg.

Anytime the wound is that open you should seek vet care, they can glue it closed and give you antibiotics so infection doesn’t set in. It heals reallllllly quickly

No, they should not cohab for that long and the female should have their own enclosure. Despite not being the same genders they can still cause harm to each other
