Great car. I’ve had my 318is since September 1991, second owner. I sat in her when she was on the dealer showroom in July, 1990. Didn’t miss when I had a second chance to buy her.
Has 14 inch rims and a tan interior with the same diamond black. Now after thirty years and 114,000 miles, there are no leaks, but she needs another timing chain, half a dozen minor fixes and new tires. My mechanic has retired for the second or third time and it time to find a new garage or a new owner.

And they had always the M sport suspension. Good tip. Replace the camshaft cogs for the ones from the E36 318is (M44). They have a rubber so the engine makes less noise.

My bother reminded about this car. I’ll be brief. I’m driving from central fl to Atlanta - I call my “fixit anything brother “ and say why won’t my heat work? There’s 300k+ mileage on this car- brother says “when’s the last time you check the radiator fluid. I have full heat controls on with no fluid in radiator!! Probably low oil too. This car was solid. 22k miles automatic change spark plugs. I’ve done it at the damn parts store. Lol

@@tommeiner9983 I see your point of them being lighter, but they seem to be a lot less reliable, in all the BMW groups I am on fb, that is most of them, its ussualy 4 clynders that have catastrophic failures, even if there is extremely few of them and through friends that's had 4 cylinder BMWs (yes older ones) most of them straight out refuse to have another one from all the problems they had.
