So if you want to open the tailgate with the lid down, you have to remove the tailgate locking plate? Does that mean you can still properly lock the load lid? Thanks

Hi there, that is right, the locking plate must be removed to open the tailgate while the Load-Lid is down. The Locking Plate is there for utes that do not have Central Locking in the tailgate. So if your ute has Central locking in the tail gate it will not effect the security. Cheers
