NHS Shared Business Services - part of the UK’s National Health Service - manages £250 billion annually to support patient care. NHS SBS found that making changes to mission-critical IT systems with a managed on-premises service was cumbersome, expensive, and involved downtime. Migrating to Oracle Exadata Database Service on OCI enabled their people to work more efficiently, with automated data integrations that accelerated supplier payments as well as increased payment accuracy. The more efficient and effective OCI data platform resulted in savings of around half a million pounds, as well as providing the basis for a stronger, more joined-up finance service for the whole National Health Service.
