And ZP brought some "anime intro songs" style in the band. They were fast and like video games, maybe it was not so clean at live performances, but it was unique. So now they became more clean, but they look like an average power metal band.

The screams at the beginning of Holding On is absolutely the perfect introduction to this absolute beast of a singer
it's kinda funny, seeing him be so confident on stage, at the beginning of the video, you can sorta see Marc start shaking a little bit.
I can imagine , now that he knows he was accepted : ) and how differnet it must have felt knowing that at this moment, your entire life and future and fame and glory depends on how you sound to your judges.
Marc Hudson is the man. I met him once in Toronto after the show, super guy and man can he sing! Keep it going 👍

- I totally agree with. Marc is a major improvement over JP. Not only is he a better singer, but he is a better all aroud musician. He knows what he is doing..and isn't just relying on a genetic ability to sing. Still to this day, his voice has retained the 'fresh' sound that we hear in this clip. He is perfect fit for the band. The old songs don't sound like new songs or like a cover version due to the band having a new singer. So many other bands face those issues when changing singers. But Marc fit in perfectly with the band. His voice suits them. Yeah, I know that you wrote your comment over 4 years ago. But what you said back then still holds truth today.
You're right, there is something in his voice. Years of training and practice. ZP just wasn't a good singer.
I mean, ZP's voice has that overdrive to it, Marc's voice is cleaner, out of the two, I'll go with ZP. But I still absolutely love Marc and the stuff he's done with DragonForce.

DragonForce has a reputation among some of the more elitist power metal fans as being too mainstream and too studio oriented. I can't refute these claims but what I can say is that when I listen to their songs I feel their energy. They hold nothing back, every song contains an uplifting, positive and fierce emotional feedback that makes me love them.
That's one of the reasons I love DragonForce. They made Metal music so much accessible to everyone.

He's not ZP, but his voice definitely has the same intensity, the same strenght, the same little thing that sends shivers down your spine. He puts all his heart in his voice, and I absolutely can't wait to see what this guy will be able to do on their next album. I'm hoping for something different, this time, and I hope they'll try some new stuff!

I was really sad when ZP left and I honestly thought there's no way any singer could ever live up to him but I must say Marc has done an excellent job in replacing ZP...I am really happy they found such a talented singer and I really think Marc was a truly great addition to Dragonforce :') He's not ZP...but he is an INCREDIBLE singer!!! I wish all the best for him ♥ :)
Like everyone else I love ZP, found out about Dragonforce with him singing and my favourite album is Valley of the Damned but... Marc is simply better.

He rocked back then from 2004-06 but after that he smoked his voice away. He didn't care enough about the band to put in that extra effort. Remember, ZP left because his musical opinions were different. Probably couldn't get into Power Metal enough. He's a great hype man, though. Just listen to Twilight Dementia; he makes the crowd go nuts.

Jared Mazza He had a nice voice in studio albums but up until he left he started sounding crappier live, based on what I've heard from CZcams videos. (I discovered DragonForce right after ZP left).

The guy is talented, but just seems like a waste if he just takes horrible care of himself (sounds familiar like other musicians,right ). He's also older, so taking care of the voice and etc. should be priority . I mean he's not 22 anymore, and a comeback is heard of where they work on musicianship, but you probably know this. (;
