1) Find a speciality where demand is more and supply is less.
2) Go for the Hard Work service provider instead of selling easy things. Be a differenatiator.
3) Give personnel touch and deliver more than expected.
1.) Go hard way , where others are not going ( see supply demand )
2.) Go with both audio and video
3.) Go unique way , upgrade yourself with skills ( don't just go with money )
4.) Offline wale kaam dene ko online kaam dene ke liye kahe ( Ask him to review )

Don't feel discourage guys, when I started, I didn't got any message for 2.5 months form anyone. Changed my way of representation, and after a week got my first project for $20. After that it was ups and downs but it is going well somewhat.

You are totally right about this Harry. Freelancers are looking for simple work and not complex work. Because the reason is simple - "Nobody wants to make a Billion Dollar Project" as a freelancer. If i want to create a very complicated system like Ola, Uber or Google Drive. I will either demand a CTO position in the company after that project is ready and also stock options and a little ownership in the company. Getting a Billion Dollar Project Idea made by freelancer is not a good idea, because the freelancer will never give you quality code for that. It is like "making cheap biryani" because you only have limited amount of money to make the biryani.

I have used Upwork for years, actually from 2013 (It was ODesk that time) , It took me more than 3 months to get first project even after constantly applying everyday. It is difficult as hell when you are unexperienced, have no reviews plus you have less to no skills.
I would say experiment with proposals writing, make it personalized as much as it can be, have one or two portfolio items to show and target less paying work in first few days, like fix this for $5, it can give you a 5 star review quickly.
Upwork was Odesk I didn't knew that. Which services you provide bro? you must have earned those badges easily till now. BTW I'm also a freelancer on Upwork.

This is what I tell people! I started chatbot marketing (less demand and less supply) but yes, it is not crowded. I am having skills and it is easy to get highlighted among 5-20 freelancers, compared to other fields which are already crowded. I started in April, earned $10 in the whole month, and now in September alone, I have earned more than $1000 and also got Top Rated badge on Upwork. As everyone says, consistency is the key, it is.
