- Coming off from a confidence-boosting podium, Haiden Deegan and the boys over at star racing headed out to MTF to go spin some laps prepping for Indianapolis Supercross. The push to get ready for Indianapolis' technical track was in full swing, working on improving techniques and strategizing through challenging circumstances. Overall, it was a solid day, putting in the work with the boys, and now we are all set for this weekend's race!

I got to witnessed Haiden's 1st moto Win here on CZcams.. I was super excited for him.. I couldn't believe he actually beat Jmart. I've been following the two young boys for many years and it's a blast watching their hard work and training come to fruition with a Pro ride and Supercross racing with the best in the world! Seeing how much you progressed in a short period of time in supercross makes me imagine how much better you'll be on a motocross track. It's truly impressive an mind-blowing how fast you're progressing on a 250.

You said it Haiden. Do what you know how to do. And of course, you're going to have fun doing that. Here's the thing I think you should consider at this point...what are you going to do if you find yourself up front feeling good? What are you going to do if you holeshot or come out top 3 off the start? How hard are you going to race the top guys now you're 3rd in points this far in the season? You've got to know how far you're willing to go.
You have to know what you're comfortable with and what you want. You don't want to ever find yourself at high speed and on the fence about what to do. In my opinion, you've earned the right to be at least battling for third...at least.
I'm just suggesting you know exactly how you want to progress from where you are because you've got here so fast you really have to think the next steps out as best you can. You have to really know how you want to transition into serious contention because at this pace, you're on a collision course with the top guys. And being such a good starter, it's a good chance you'll find yourself in nothing short of an actual championship battle race situation. It just is what it is at this point.
Just be ready for that moment. Don't let it catch you off guard. Know how hard you're going to push and have your limits. Like you said in the truck interview with your Dad, you haven't gone all out yet. But, with your confidence where it is, and the bar being set where you've set it, it's going to be hard to stay as contained in the heat of battles that you may belong in on any given race day.
Have your mind made up. Know yourself and stay yourself while adapting to new situations in smart ways. One thing that hasn't been mentioned that I know plays a factor that people may underestimate because of your age is your intelligence. I know how clear of a thinker you are.
Trust your ability to be smart and fast no matter the situation. Have your presets for heated battles and also be prepared to stay clearheaded and in the moment and to ALWAYS do the smart thing.
It's been a wild ride but you're built for this level of challenge. Never doubt that and never think you don't belong where you find yourself out there.

Hard to believe how fast he blitzing the whoops now compared to a year ago
Funny deegan talking about flips. Before Metzger did it, everyone was trying to pull the bike back with a near vertical ramp, like on a bicycle, but impossible with a 220lb bike(a la Carey Hart). Metzger went to the dunes and decided to use the throttle to basically loop the bike out on the face of the ramp.....and the rest is history. I think he broke his visor trying it, and that's why he decided to just go with it from then on, goon style....the "godfather" lol.
His bike setup reminds me of Ricky Carmichaels bike when he was on Suzuki . Slung low in the rear with a fast rebound 🤷🏼♂️
