@@BlackLotus2077 that’s because he has vhagar. He is a skilled fighter but I don’t think he would fare well in a 1v1 sword fight with Daemon for example. And he sneak attacks all the time on dragonback

Unlike in the source material, the show has made it clear that Rhaenyras oldest son was born out of treason and illegitimacy meaning the Greens were right in sitting Aegon on the Iron Throne, as if Rhaenyra took the Crown her heir would be a Strong and not a Targaryen. In the book it could always be argued her heir was in fact a Targaryen but the show for some stupid reason made it clear he was a Strong. Any viewer who is a fan of House Targaryen, which I would be the majority of viewers would not support the "team" that wanted to sit a non Targaryen on the Iron Throne

Sunfyre didn't deserve this. He and Aegon had a very close bond.
Alicent should just blame herself over what happened to Aegon. She gave him the worst motherly advice and gaslit him big time. Why should Aegon feel greatful to the “sacrifices” that they all made for him? He didn’t want the throne. They just used him as a puppet to climb for power, he literally has no say. He protested to his baby boy being paraded like a dead dog after his death and no one listened to him.
@@GLitiatc0 Otto really didn’t think this very well when he decided to put Aegon on the throne. He and Alicent just kept being petty and trying to undermine Rahenyra’s claim (putting corly’s brother as lord of the tides and trying to convince Viserys that jayce and luke were savages). But they couldn’t do anything else. Preparing Aegon for ruling when Viserys is still Alive would just be treason… so you end up with a rapist drunk grieving brat as your « king » or puppet… no wonder he F up every plans the Greens prepared for god Knows how Many years 😂
While it was dark, Otto's plan of showing the kid to the public really was a great political move lol

And probably thinks way too high of herself, thinking she is wise.... we haven't seen a single smart decision by her so far, or a great strategy about the war. Her only well adjusted child is the one that she didn't raise, that's in Oldtown.
46:08 High Valyrian actually has a complete grammar system and vocabulary etc, and you can even learn it on Duolingo. Me and some friends have been learning it for a while and speak to each other in high Valyrian at times just for fun.

Valyrian is a complete language as the Author had to complete a set of competition task among the best language creators in the world he won and made his way to create this language and Dothraki for the series, and if that's not impressive enough, have you seen Dune? and Chaksoba language? Rhaenys and meleys want to give the green a big blow by dealing huge damage to the biggest dragon and that is why rhaenys ordered meleys to return and attack again and that look from Meleys saying that she is ready to strike for the second time and finish the job. This two knows each other very well by just eye contact, true rider and dragon bond.
Vhargr is 180 years old Granny and has super Energetic Hot Blood Rider. She is fighting despite being so old
it's quite obvious that Aemond was trying to kill Aegon he already showed that he wanted the throne to himself from season 1 let alone all the humiliation and disrespect Aegon gave him through out the years even after he becomes king
Episode 4 will go down as one of the most legendary episodes. Aemond’s and Vhagar’s entrance was so epic, but Meleys put up a great fight 💯

We also got a shot in episode 3 of an army leaving Kings Landing as well as Cole referring to the army setting up camp behind them just before Baela and Moondancer ambushed them.

52:00 - For fairness sake it should be pointed out that Aegon never wanted to be King and neither was he prepared for the role, not by his father or mother's side. While Alicent did have a point that Aegon should hear out his council and learn more from them before going gung ho on making decisions, its not really fair for her and most of the others to be talking down to him when they put him in this role in the first place, they should be helping guide him along constructively rather than just dismissing him entirely after everything.
I like how you guys caught on to Cole's plan, most other reactors I see are quick to label him as cocky out of wanting him dead.
Rhaenys went there to help Rook's Rest, if she she left she would be abandoning Rhaenyra's allies which would damage her cause and make her side look like they would abandon allies when the going gets tough. Retreat simply wasn't an option for her sadly.
Also the Dragon in the dungeon you mention, Vermithor, has no rider to it and thus isn't something Rhaenyra's side can use at this point and practically a non factor. No counting Meleys Rhaenyra's side only has 5 dragons they can send out out, Daemon's , Jaecary's, Baela's, Joffret's and Rhaenyra's own one. Of those only Daemon's dragon is large enough to challenge Vhagar and he's currently isolated at Harrenhal away from the others.
The other dragons are around similair size to Lucerys dragon Arrax and thus would be no match for Vhagar, even if they all banded together against her. Simply put, there was no one available who could have helped Rhaenys in this situation.

This season has done a great job of humanizing Aegon and making his story a little tragic. Kinda felt a bit bad for him in the end xd
Don't forget, and I'm sure that Rhaenys didn't forget, that if Vhagar isn't neutralized, she and Aemond will go after Rhaenyra and Baela and Rhaena and the Velaryon fleet (and Corlys) and Rhaenys could not stand to have that happen, not if she had the slightest chance of preventing it. Also, she is a Targaryen Princess, the grand-daughter of a Targaryen King, and the daughter of a Targaryen prince who was killed by enemies while defending the realm in a military campaign. This is war and Rhaenys doesn't flee.

It's crazy how big vahgar is but yet so sneaky in the books vhagar would burn the river lands, then daemond would look for them and could never find them they always disappeared
Rhaenys was sent by Queen Rhaenyra to protect the people of Rooks Rest in this Battle. Just because Vhagar shows up to fight it doesn't mean the Battle is over. If Rhaenys had fled back to Dragonstone, running away from the Battle and Abandoning the people of Rooks Rest, Rhaenyra's claim would be viewed as weak. Like Queen Rhaenyra runs away when things get tough. That's the simple answer for Rhaenys's suicide mission. Put even simpler, there were still people to protect.

Everytime I hear someone say Rhaenys should have ran im like damn these team Black supporters don't care for the common folk, these people is out her fighing in Rhaenyras name and if Rhaenys leaves them she is signing their death certificate, because she has a chance to fight Vhagar the soldier at the castle had a 0% chance.
Rhaenys reason for staying is up in the air, is it guilt of not killing them last season, honor of dying a riders death in battle, duty to fight until the very end and potential takeout 2 dragons, fear that Aemond was so unhinged after attacking his own brother thge king that we would chase her back to Rhaenyra and for everyone that says they should have sent more dragons only Daemons dragon could have helped Jace and Baela dragon would be eaten by Vhagar.

Rhaenys showed that if you’re an experienced rider you can beat aemond and vhagar. If her and daemon would’ve storm the castle to kill vhagar when they said so, they would’ve taken care of it no problem.
She was outmatched from the start, she never had a chance of beating vhagar in a 1v1.
Yes, everyone had the same feeling. It was incredible but extremely sad 😢. I definitely wasn't ready for this episode 4 😭
re amount of risk on rhaenyra's jaunt to kings landing: remember the era these folks live in -- no photos, no magazines, no 24-hour tv or worldwide internet. maybe there's a bust or statue at the palace, depending on the artist's skill. who really knows what anyone they never met actually looks like? at best, all the public knows is that she's a petite blond. and the palace staff has already been purged at least twice, after viserys died and after jaehaerys' murder. the risk of recognition is a lot smaller than you'd think.
House Blackwood is one of the favorite house of the nerd fans from the books. Seing them in live action is a long awaited dream since they were completely cut from GOT

Cool detail but the Blackwood we saw, Willem, was the young boy who killed the Bracken man when they were appealing to Rhaenyra for her hand in marriage. He’s been a savage since he was just a kid.
cole was recruiting loyal soldiers the entire time he was riding. He didn't leave with a lot but he had more before his first fight and gained each time.
At this point I just can't wait to see how they will take Vhagar down, the only one I feel that could match Aemond's crazyness is Daemond, but it would also be pretty symbolic if Rhaenyra's elder son took him down. Man, dragon fights are absolutely the hype on this series!
Aegon's succesor is his daughter Jaehaera, at least according Andal laws which he uses to justify his own rights. If Jaehaera's right is to be ignored, that remains yet to be spoken, either on-screen or by writers. (But since Jaehaera is 4-year-old, Aemond would hold power regardless if he had crown or not.)

Dany’s egg most probably came from when elissa farman stole three of dreamfyre’s egg and sold it somewhere in essos during the reign of king Jaehaerys.
And even in the show also , sure for some reason the director of the 3rd episode geta patel said that those were actually dany’s egg ( which makes no fucking sense at all ) but then later on , the show runner Ryan condal even stated that those were indeed not dany’s egg.
And beside , syrax looks nothing like denaerys’s dragon.
Sure the books never outright confirm the elissa farman theory but there’s implications that it actually is , and author george r r martin does it a lot in his work.

I think the few guys cole had when the dragon chased them were just a scouting crew. There were probably more cuz i might be remembering wrong but i think cole tried to get alicents brother to slow down and stay with the rest of the guys and not ride ahead.

House Blackwood still follow the old Gods, maybe the only large house outside the North to do so. Their seat, Raventree Hall, has a Massive Weirwood tree that is dead, but has thousands of ravens roost in it at night. Consider wargs exist...
House Blackwood and Bracken can both field much larger Armies than their overlord House Tully, but they had fought each other to the point of being weaker than House Tully at the time of Aegon's Conquest, hence Aegon choosing house Tully to rule the Riverlands.
House Blackwood supported the claim of Rhaeny's son Laenor over Viserys.

meleys was outstanding in this battle I think rhaenys chose to stay and fight was in order to wound and inflect damage as much as possible on vhagar so the next dragon who would face vhagar would have a better chance killing her

This episode really showed me why the Greens getting rid of Otto was thier biggest mistake because they all dropped the ball this episode. Aegon is upset that Ser Criston Cole is making plans without consulting him but when he did it in episode 2 by sending Ser Arryk to kill Rhaenyra you didn't say anything then instead you rewarded him by making him your hand so now he feels like he can do whatever he wants. Aemond's and Ser Criston Cole plan may have worked but it was not the smart move, because killing Rhaenys was not a win. They should've went to Harrenhall while Daemon was by himself and his guard was down because he's been hallucinating and they could've ambushed him. But now not only do the Blacks have Harrenhall and the Riverlands, they also have the North, the Narrow Sea, the Blackwoods and Vhagar killed the Sea Snakes wife. They should've thought that through a little bit more.
Also there are ppl who are comparing aegon to joffery...and overall that's not entirely fair or accurate;

Aegon II is more chaotic neutral...at least ppl want to actually talk to him..at least he actually sleeps around with girls, instead of using them as dart boards...
Alicent and Viserys made Aegon the way he is and then she blames him for being the way he is. He was her child. She should have raised him better. Paid more attention to his training instead of letting him run wild. She raised him to be a weak man and then complains he’s weak? With nobody guiding him what did they expect? That he’d get the crown and suddenly be a strong leader? The kid didn’t even want to be king. He literally ran from the idea and had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the throne but somehow it’s his fault he’s not good at it?
Vhagar vs meleys wasn't all that close, Vhagar sustained almost no damage, she's totally fine. Meleys had no chance in a 1v1 against Vhagar, it was only matter of time before vhagar killed her.
Rhaenys had multiple reasons she didn't return to dragon stone. She wasnt going to abandon lord staunton, the lord she came to defend. Another reason is the damage meleys had already sustained against Vhagar. She knew wherever meleys landed, she would have to stay grounded till her wounds healed. She would be unable to take off due to her leg being broken.
Helaena has a dragon right ? So, theres 2 for greens
they have a brother Otto talked about him twice Dareon i believe also they said his dragon is almost at "fighting age" so maybe moondacer size so 3 and 4 with sunfyre if he makes it

47:50 another example of social cues and context to pick up on, tho this one is a little more subtle; alicent has been going through a multitude of books, regarding history...and based on the manner of speaking, Lil foot can assume she's doubting or is unsure of whether aegons rule..he isnt sure on the info in detail, but I can guess that alicent is more doubtful now, as opposed to before....
And of course he knew right away after looking at the tea
