Always thought this song sounded like the evil twin of Ace of Spades that was kept in a basement in the coal chute and was never allowed outside to play.
And that 'Overkill' was some 'Resident Evil'-type 'monstrously powerful and totally uncontrollable' lab-created beast from which the DNA strands were harvested for 'Ace of Spades'.
Thrown a gallon of water and a whole boiled chicken once a week....that was a horror movie....I vaguely remember.

Not only rock'n'roll. Heavy metal and its branches as well, including speed metal, thrash metal, and even black metal - the three instigators (Venom, Hellhammer, Bathory) were heavily influenced by Motörhead's filthy brand of fast and loud rock'n'roll

@John Doe thanks man. We have few songs now and we are thinking about recording demo. It might take few weeks or months cause we have bit of a problem with that where we play but we are still gonna do it.
@@conde_bathory Which is kinda funny since none of the bands (save for maybe Saxon and Orange Goblin) who were inspired by Motörhead ever adapted the blues or the 50's rockabilly flavour prevalent in Motörhead's music. It's of course good that they took their own direction, but it's funny how the bands inspired by Motörhead never really sounded like them.

I'm old. I was a fan years before this... this was the last period I saw them live until years later I catered them on Ozzfest. ... it kinda broke my heart to see them playing the small stage. Megadeth and their goofy fans by the thousands ignoring them... but years later they seemed to capture the hearts of millions. I love seeing the concert footage of Lemmy in front of giant crowds as he got older. They deserve the love.

@@Userius1 Listening to old Motorhead, their intesity seems more punk than metal, while their riffs and solos are more hard-rock. So they sound closer to a garage band with better solos, than a metal band like Sabbath or Priest.
So happy to see they put up new high quality vids on the official channel. These guys are essential to the birth of metal and inspired so many bands and fans. 🎼🎸🤘🏻

I was 12 in 82 with hair past my shoulders and hanging in my face, much to my parents and teachers annoyance, which only made me more determined to keep growing it lol, this was the first Moterhead album I bought, I bought it from my local record shop after buying the Iron Fist single on Red vinyl (big deal back then lol still got them of course) I couldn’t wait to save up enough money to buy up their back catalogue lol, no internet etc I would spend hours with my mates pouring over the pictures on the album covers and inner sleeves while pretending to be Fast Eddie 🙏🏼 so so glad to have been around in the 70s and 80s growing up to these guys ✌🏽

@Antonio Azevedo Boomer is a mindset, you're displaying boomer behaviour by falling into the trap of "old good, new bad." Back in the day people were saying how terrible Motörhead were, how they weren't as good as old music. Don't be that guy.
@@michaeldeluca6331 Motörhead and other metal bands were considered terrible in their early days. I clearly remember that. However over a long period of time, these bands paid their dues and their music became appreciated. I see a lot of younger people starting to admire these bands also. Like or not music for the most part is just not a thing as it used to be and clearly doesn’t have the same influence. We are now living in the age of the social media, video, influencer stars. The music of today can easily be done on a laptop and does lack that punch to it. You can notice this diminished interest as well through the dwindling audience at music award shows for example.

IMHO this, Ace of Spades and Overkill are the greatest rock albums ever recorded. They gave the middle finger to the status quo and never changed their sound so that the masses were pleased.
