Taking the viewers on their journey through mass rescues, drownings, resuscitations, shark sightings, and all number of the weird and wonderful experiences Bondi Beach dishes up.
In #BondiRescue the audience sees the action through the eyes of real characters and #lifeguards like Hoppo, Deano, Reidy, Jesse, Maxi, Whippet and Harries, as they catch thieves, perform CPR, make drug busts, break up fights, and even handle a navy bomb that washes ashore one afternoon. Can’t they tell they are just making it so much worse? They could actually block emergency services from getting to the patient who could die because of it. It’s not a reality tv show. My sister and I run towards it. We’re washing away with our feet touching the floor the whole time, until hers didn’t. She starts freaking out after a while (she can only doggi paddle) so I swim out to get her, only to find myself not being able to swim back. My sister is now full blown panicking to the point where she grabs my shoulders and pushes down to be able to breathe, not realizing she was drowning me when she did that. I started panicking because now I was drowning. I start signaling to the lifeguard on duty who responds immediately.
    Here’s the embarrassing part.
When the lifeguard finally reached us, we had gotten ourselves to sand level again. So we just walked the whole way back. After that incident, I do not get inside the water if the waves are crazy, and when I do get in, it’s only to jump waves. I don’t dive anymore, I don’t get in there too deep, and I never let my feet leave the sand.
