In 2015 Amsterdam based composer Joep Beving composed and recorded his debut solo album âSolipsismâ at home in the still of night. The album is filled with introspective and often filmic piano compositions. Bevingâs sound could be described as the opposite to over-produced and complexly layered music styles. His ambition for âSolipsismâ is to keep the music stripped back to its essence: simple sounds to express complex emotions. It represents a quest for essence and beauty, expressed in a neo-classical vocabulary.
âSolipsismâ refers to the philosophical idea that reality only exists in oneâs mind. Everything outside of it, the external world and the minds of others, cannot truly be known and hence does not exist. Bevingâs music is an experiment in existential communication, a belief in an absolute aesthetic, to prove that a universal and metaphysical reality does exist.
The production and release of the album (digital & vinyl) is completely independent.

@@daviddewacht If you compare it to the original, there is almost certainly a skipped beat. It's not speaking against his ability. In fact, the organic process of live performances and adapting to a hiccup like that is very beautiful.

Metal music, rap music, epic music, everyone has that genre of music they seek in order to calm their anger,disappointments, feelings while music like this, plays with your soul, your inner core and removes our ego, pride, vengeance and turn it into nothing but a pure picture of what humans truly want, harmony.
I had the good fortune to see Joep's return to Toronto last Friday (front row!) and he was kind enough to meet and greet with fans afterwards, for FREE. So many bands/performers are charging fans for that opportunity these days, it was wonderful of him to give us the chance to say hello and thank him for his amazing music.

Different, but I much prefer the power, subtlety, and everything in between that the Steinway D has to offer. As for the music, I would become bored soon enough.
