Tommy has been sounding the alarm for 20 years. I remember one of my neighbours (who was a retired Scottish social worker) she told me that she wrote “Muslim men are exploiting young white girls and we’re not doing enough to protect them” in her notes. She got suspended sometime in 1997. She wrote a long post on Facebook and was reported. People have known but were silenced, shut down or “terrified to act”.
The fact that the police’s response has been so lacklustre is a national disgrace. There have to be reasons why they are so lame and ineffectual in arresting known paedophiles. Answer: they’re paedophiles themselves or they’re being paid to look the other way. It’s a terrible indictment against all of the victims, survivors and their families. Tommy, you have a lot of support in different communities, even from African backgrounds like mine.
