  • How to interpret different patterns of leaf curling or leaf folding- like upward leaf curl, downward leaf curl and side-curl and then diagnose possible reasons for leaves curling and treat this leaf disease.
    When you see leaves of your plant curling - whether upwards or downwards, your plants are trying to tell you something! The first thing that should come in your mind is: the PLANT IS IN STRESS. Stress is more commonly seen in younger plants than the more established or mature plants.

    Hi, good video there hey. Thanks for the tips. Indeed downwards curl is in almost all times caused by heat stress and watering the plants more regularly usually solves the problem. I think it was on point number 4 or 5 where you talked about a shade net, I really want to emphasize that advice. Shade nets really help, not just against too much heat, but they also create a conducive environment that promotes growth rate and shade cloths protect plants from insects and pests. Lastly, on leafy bacteria. Indeed neem oil helps treat and prevent some bacterial diseases such as bacterial spot and target spot, which both affect tomatoes, potatoes and bell peppers. Personally I use copper oxychloride or mancozeb. They are cheaper and much easier to find in my country. Both Mancozeb and Copper Oxychloride also prevent and to some extent fight against other bacterial diseases such as early and late blight that affect tomatoes, peppers, potatoes and egg plants. Thank you so much for your video. Looking forward to more tips from you.

    awesome and a step above most other info ive seen online. thanks so much for explaining and showing examples if problem and solution and providing natural organic solution and better advise than just simple generic... feed more often... which is not often the case. and that was invaluable to explain most problems are environmental... that is a game changer

    My lemon plant is constantly being effected by caterpillar 🐛 they're eating the leafs I've been taking them out carefully and putting them away from the lemon plant as they're selectively eating just lemon plant leaves only. And now the leaves are curling upwards so it's due to not watering regularly or not deep watering it well enough. And I am now sprinkling water on the leaves through handheld spray bottle just so it doesn't go dehydrated. Thank you for your tips.

    Reliable information is almost impossible to obtain on the internet. Many online plant sources claim just the opposite - that leaves curling downward are a clear indication of OVERwatering, whereas leaves curling upward indicate that the plant is UNDERwatered. WHICH is it and how can we determine which claims are true?

      Older leaves at bottom getting yellow or drying is normal, can remove them and ignore. Perhaps it was obvious after repotting due to transplant shock. Good sign is you are getting new leaves growing 👍

    Good information sir. One more question. Do jade plants require full sunlight. Can I keep it on terrace? I live in Mysore. Some say it doesn't require full sunlight n can grow in indirect sunlight, while some say it requires full 6 to 8 hours of sun for growing into bushy. V v confusing. Can you plz clarify my doubts. Thank you

    • @GardenTips
      @GardenTips  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi. Jade varieties like crassula etc tolerate any amount of light. I have kept them in direct sun but under green shade net of 50% since 4 years and they grow very well. They do poor indoors but indirect bright light they survive without issues. If you keep in sun or shade the main point is in watering. In sun they need watering thrice a week and in shade twice a week depending on climate.
