- Kay Wilson has just moved to Los Angeles, the city of her dreams, and considers herself lucky: the 26-year-old hairdresser has found a place to live at the same price as the studio she used to rent in Pennsylvania. The only problem is that the young woman sleeps inside a pod no bigger than 3 square meters. Her new home is a capsule, inspired by the famous hotels in Japan.

Strong “you will own nothing and you will like it” vibes I’m getting from this video
Right they trying to make this look like a positive thing.
Wouldn't they just love to have all the common people trapped in one of those cages
"There's nothing for rent...anywhere"
It's almost like there's a whole country out there in Not Los Angeles
This! I go to school in Ohio (in a relatively low cost of living area) and have friends that rent a whole house, with each person getting their own bedroom & bathroom, who each pay around $300-$400/mo in rent. But imagine thinking LA is the whole world 😂
You: "Bahaha Why don't they just leave Los Angeles?"
Also you: "Reeee LA people stop raising our housing prices, I know it's totally your fault and not Blackrock's because the TV said so!"
LA is expensive because an endless flood of "big fish in small pond" drama queen types from across the country move here thinking they'll become a movie star within a few months. When they finally get evicted, they end up on blocking sidewalks with their tents.
@@SFVYachtClub Yeah these kids aren't the ones driving up prices in NV, ID and other parts of the country, that would be the people who owned homes, voted for all the Policies that made CA so expensive and then left to trash other states. Personally though if they think living in a POD is worth it then by all means keep your pod, please stay in CA, trust me the rest of the country will be happy you did.
@@20somthingdrifter11 Then dipshit 20 year olds from Kansas and Ohio need to stop moving to California chasing dreams that they couldn’t fulfill in those backwater flyover states. Stay in your hellholes and enjoy your fentanyl.
Get a van and a gym membership
I think I know what you mean gyms have showers massage beds and a van is a place you can sleep and take anywhere with you. Don't forget convient stores and markets for food that lasts without a fridge or buy a portable mini fridge
Or you can be like me and install a bathroom and make the vehicle poop & solar powered

750 a month 😂 u can get small apartments for that price and still have the other 850 (more or less) at the end of the month for utilities.
750$ a month for a cult membership is outrageous
LmaO 🤣. They have free cool-aid
The local weed dealer must me making a killing
You WILL live in the pod you WILL eat the bugs
Sounds like happiness for me!
The american dream 😂
Have to be asleep to believe it 😴
if you want to fulfill it correctly, cities are not for you.
Sponsored by the WEF
Capsule hotels in Tokyo, ( more expensive than New York) are about $25/night and are way more modern, even futuristic compared to what I see here.
itd be cheaper to mod a van and youd get more privacy and pay someone 50 bucks a month to be a proxy address
Should cost $400
Tree fity.... No more
@@awnzotheman I wouldn't live there if it was free.
It's like a high end homeless shelter
How do you lock it up so no one steals your stuff
If you don't have any stuff then nobody can steal it. You will own nothing and you WILL be happy.
@@1973Washu The Great Reset.
That's surviving not living.
La is hell on earth
Have everything
looks like a military squad bay but with 80% more privacy.
In military you live with all dudes, you're constantly under fight or flight and you get better quality food. This looks like homeless orgy fest
750??!!! for that!
Bro I lowkey want to open one of these, They offer soo much for so little, It’s a cool concept.
0:47 🤣🤣🤣 why!!!!
I was gonna say. The rap guy had me laughing my ass off 😊
Says that there's nowhere to rent in LA. They're acting that Los Angeles is the only place in the US or in the world that you can't find a place to rent/buy. I can't even imagine myself living in a capsule room/hotel for more than a couple of days due to how clustophobic it is and people who have the fear of confined spaces would have a meltdown. My inner introvert would be freaking out.
Don't tell me I'd never think about staying there
@@MitchellBPYao I wouldn't mind if it was a cheap city hostel to stay in for a couple of days for $10 or so a night.
My late model van with insurance is about $250/month. Plus I have transportation and privacy.
A normal person nightmare is a liberal dream
Yeah right, while you're trying to cross over the Mexican border...
Sadly, the pods are coming for us all.
I lived here and this girl yelled at me. smh. not cool K, I thought we were friends.
Awwwww.... poor baby 👶
Wow. And that's for someone making 60k a year....Not including the vast majority of us that make far less, half that.
This is reminding me of that Black Mirror episode.
The pop/ capsule should 100% have something to lock the inside.
Just a curtain? 🤔
what do you do if you’re sick with the noise and activity, how could you rest
This one is stuck in the matrix.
Crazy!
Maybe it would have come off better if the people I'm the video weren't so annoying
nuke la
She could rent a room for the same price 😅
Maybe in South Gate. I'm renting 2 rooms at my place for $1800 each (near the Arts District), and they don't get kitchen access. $1-1.2k is the norm for rooms nowadays if you were to get an average for all of SoCal.
@@Andorski you’re getting shafted. The valley is much cheaper and safer.
And youre a scumbag for charging that much and not letting use the kitchen..
@@noushs8004 ooh .. where is the valley and how much cheaper is it? I wanna live here
Sounds like what hell would be like.
Actually it seems like it could keep people outside having fun!
I'm currently renting 2 rooms at my house for $1.8k each, but given the size of the rooms and what I assume are the approximate dimensions of those pods, I think I can increase the income of each room to $4.5k each. Thank you for the idea, this looks like an amazing business venture.
MOVE! There is NOTHING in L.A. that's so special that would make any sane person want to spend $700 for a little box to live in! You may have to live in a smaller city in the Midwest or the South, but there are communities with rents ranging from $600 to $1000 and starting wages of $17 - $22 an hour. Do the math!
Where?
@@homaralexandersanchezgonza4882 Lincoln Nebraska, Sioux Falls South Dakota, Evansville Indiana, Springfield Missouri, and many many more. Should be able to find a small one-bedroom in a less desirable location for $800. Efficiencies pop up from time to time for $600 or so.
750 for a hole in the fucking wall
I hate the antichrist
That's prison life for dummies
Too expensive
not worth living there
That’s like in China. Sad.
Lmfao whatever it takes to live in LA what a joke😊
If am architect they can live there but after designing their own building have dream is it possible
She must be a terrible hairdresser if that’s all she can afford
what do you expect democrats when you keep voting for regulations and more regulations
