    Thank you for this wonderful video! I did enjoy and loved the products you used and probably order sometime between my only concern was zo polish which you used for exfoliation, it does has fragrance , limonene and linolool which is not good for skin so is it ideal to use 5 times a week? Please educate

    • @theocbeautymd
      @theocbeautymd  Před 2 lety +1

      You're right, fragrance is definitely not for everyone! Exfoliation 5x per week is also too much for more sensitive skin. It really is a personal journey. I do exfoliate my skin quite a lot and it does great but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for everyone. Skinbetter Science and Alastin are fragrance free but they do not have a comparable product. If you prefer a chemical exfoliation, the skinbetter peel pads are very intense, and you can use them 1-3x per week. The alpharet retinol products all offer AHA's for a light chemical exfoliation.
      Hope that helps 🥰

    Great video! I am currently using Alastin skin restore and Alastin eye cream and have recently learned about Skin Better Lines and Skin Better eye cream from your videos. Do you think one line is better than other?

    • @theocbeautymd
      @theocbeautymd  Před 2 lety

      I would say both of these lines are excellent and it's good to switch things up on your skin every few months so your skin doesn't get lazy. Having said that, I rely heavily on Alastin anytime I have a procedure because I think (and research shows) that the skin heals faster and produces more collagen when using Alastin products during the healing process.☺️

    • @theocbeautymd
      @theocbeautymd  Před 2 lety +1

      Play around with the products to see which don't like each other. I know my ZO hydrating cream pills with tretinoin and the ZO hydroquinone creams so I avoid those combos. Otherwise I can't think of any ingredients pilling lately. When I happens, I take out one product and watch what happens, until I figure out which don't go together well.

    I would have thought you used Skinceuticals CE férulic since it has the most research based efficacy. I thought THD just doesn’t have it yet.

    • @theocbeautymd
      @theocbeautymd  Před 2 lety +1

      You are 100% correct. There isn't enough research for THD. I think the SkinCeuticals formulation is probably the best one out there but I can't get over the fact that it comes in a dropper and they haven't re packaged it over the years. It can also be irritating because of the low ph so THD is more gentle. What I love about Alto is that it has 19 anti oxidants altogether with a nice medley of water soluble, fat soluble and enzymatic.

  • @learningtogrow3535
    @learningtogrow3535 Před 2 lety

    I understand why you don't put actives such as retinol on the eyelids but why can't you put eye creams and hyaluronic acid etc...on the eye lids? If one is spending exorbitant amount of money to help prevent that skin from drying out, why not place it on the skin itself instead of the brow bone? I get that the skin is thin and sensitive but it seems counterintuitive to have an eye cream you can't place close to the lid. Thank you for your input.

    • @theocbeautymd
      @theocbeautymd  Před 2 lety +1

      Generally it's because the product diffuses out and ends up on the eyelid anyway. I always stay on the brow bone but with non retinol products I do apply closer to the inner edge of the eye socket.
      The other reason is irritation, if the cream gets in the eye it can be irritating. If you find that you tolerate it well when you apply to the eyelid, you can keep applying on the eye lid, it's at your individual discretion, (with the exception of retinoids, because they can harm the lubrication of your eyes and cause dry eyes).
