The second sentence is part of the cartoon's purpose. It was basically an extension of military recruitment marketing, to the point they even had plotlines where the Joes were threatened with having their budgets cut.
That is why I frigging don't like GI Joe. That, and the godawful animation and writing.
I mean…yeah, but they couldn't exactly kill off their toys while the toy lines were still going.🤣

Most places, late spring is often very pleasant. Yes, concentrate on keeping the poles frozen, so we don't have beachfront property in Ohio and lose most all of Florida (except the hills in the Panhandle, and some of the garbage piles that would be islands).

Yeah, attack drones are only great if you already have unimpeded access to the airspace. Combine old-fashioned ground-based AAA with roaming swarms of anti-drones, and suddenly they are useless.

Unless you read the comic. The cartoon had to be very dumbed down and G rated. The comic on the other hand often read like Tom Clancy novels. Joes often died, yes even the named ones with action figures. The guy, Larry Hama, who wrote the file cards on the back of each Gi Joe figure was the one responsible for writing the Marvel comics for Gi Joe. They're actually very mature and very good.
as a show they couldn't have the joes win, nor could they have the Cobras win, it had to be a stalemate with no deaths so that it wouldn't traumatize kids, also if they had to invent new soldiers every week that wouldn't do.....

Duke: okay joes, listen up, we need to step up our game, we lost too many soldiers last week but we got some new recruits but before we meet em lets review our losses
Dusty, died trying to sneak through the jungle
Beachead, died when he tried to set up a beachead

darthXreven that's true and from what I've read in the GI Joe animated movie they originally intended for Duke to die but after the backlash from the transformers movie where Optimus died they changed it so that Duke was in a coma instead. And from that point onward hasbro decided that they would never kill off characters in their advertainment series. If a character needed to exit to make room for another then they would go on some sort of far off mission and never be heard from because making kids cry doesn't make for good action figure sales.
