All you need to do is write a message, add a few objects and records that say something about the time you're living in, and bury it in a box somewhere for future generations to find. That's how you make a time capsule, and in this video, we're looking at the most amazing time capsules in the world!

I was working on an old 1800's church in 1975 and had to remove the "Keystone" to place it on the front of the new addition. A Keystone is piece of stone (white granite in this case) that has the building's dates chiseled into it. When I pulled it out I found a metal box behind it. I turned it over to the church and they found records and memorabilia from it's founding up until 1901 when it was rebuilt after a fire. The church members updated all of the info about the church and included current pictures. They even included a picture of me standing with the box and the Keystone, with a description of who I was and how the box was found. The new box was put behind the new Keystone, which was placed beside the old Keystone on the front of the new church addition. Who knows, maybe in 100 years someone will be looking at my picture and wondering about how life was "back then!"

I remember we made a time capsule back in the school days in 1999 to celebrate the turn of the new millennium, it was supposed to be opened in 2099 we also planeted a ton of new trees around the edge of the school field, and the capsule was burried under 1 of those, I remember we put in a Polaroid photo of each each 1 of us, with a letter describing what life was like in 1999 and what we thought life would be like at the turn of the first century of new new millennium tempted to get a spade and go hunting for it 😀

I did a time capsule in my last house when i sold it in 2001! I was redoing the basement bathroom, i enclosed a small closet that used to hold the towels, enclosed it with a sheet of drywall, i put a news paper of that year and some other stuff, also do you guy's remember a box that used to have like someone inside locked up, and when you press the button it would say "help! Can someone get me out of here!" Lol i wrote my name on a note and and some words, and the year done! Hopefully the person who ever remodels the house, will find it! But in the next century! Lmfao!👋🤣👍

I found a time capsule under the lead roof of Westminster Abbey back in the early 1990s and the contents were drawings and papers celebrating the life and Funeral of Admiral Nelson. The lead box was put back along with new Abby restoration drawings.

When my husband of 18yrs tragically died a few years ago I wrote him a letter and put it in a small box together with our wedding bands (we used to talk about whoever goes first takes the rings - long story). I put it in his inside jacket pocket so that it would be right by his heart.
I don't know if anyone will ever find it sometime in the future, and I don't know if they'll be able to read the language and know that I'll love him til time stands still.
