We were offered some eggs to hatch but I’m scared! My 12 year old is desperate to give it a go!

My husband got me 2 of these incubators but we can’t get the humidity right and stable. If we add a bottle of water to it, the humidity is way to high, if we add a half a bottle of water it will drop but it is only semi stable for about 12 hours then we have to add more water to bring it back to 60. We have tried everything, shut the air whole off or just crack them. What ever we do nothing works to hold the humidity at 60. I trying to hatch chicken eggs. Any suggestions please.?
If its to low you can add just a few drops of hot water & instantly get it higher.
If you tried 1 botton and it was to high and 1/2 bottle dosnt last more than 12 hours can you try 3/4 a bottle?
You may just need to water 2 times a day and I got good results.
I have an Hethya incubator and can not figure out how to reset the day counter. Do you know how to do this? Someone has said all you have to do is change it from chicken to duck or whatever and it will reset, but mine won’t. So I was wondering if you had any input.

Same love unfortunately 😔 so I just help them. More time for me but I save $$ with a cheaper incubator
I have this incubator and it will not regulate humidity or heat 🥲 I filled it and only had 4 chicks hatch I’m so mad
