DeKalb County School Board approves new pilot program designed to keep kids away from their cellphon

Five middle schools and five high schools will use "Yondr" pouches this fall. Three other schools will try a locker system.

I moved to a different state to avoid strict phone policies like this when I was in school. I would have been fine with handing it to the teacher until the end of the lesson / class for extra credit but not having it off or locked up. Not being able to use phones at lunch is also a joke.

Some parents won’t like it because if a school shooting were to happen they won’t be able to call. I’m all for no phones though the teacher has a phone so if an emergency happens there you go.
