    What language was the first reader speaking? Russian or Polish? And who gave the homily?

      Not 100% sure, but it sounds Polish. Polish is the third-most-spoken language in the Chicago area (behind English and Spanish). The homily was by Archbishop Peter Sartain of Seattle.

      Our country is very far from Chicago, but I heard about Cardinal George and respected him. I cried a lot when he died.

      That is "O God beyond all praising" to the melody called Thaxted by Gustav Holst. The British anthem "I vow to thee, my country" uses the same tune,
