    You are right about not needing a separate bag for clinical. Its definitely setting yourself up to forget things,

    I have several stethoscopes from working as an MA for a long time. I leave them in my purse and bag and thwy are very resilient. Littman are great, Mdf brand are really good too and cheaper.

    Agree with the clipboard during clinical. When you’re working as a nurse and taking report on 6-7 patients I’d recommend some form of clipboard to write on and then fold up the paper with your report on it.
    Also some things I’d add that were always helpful. On your name badge get a sharpie mini with the key ring on it to clip to your badge for initialing dressings and iv tubing. I used mine constantly.

    I think the folding clip board is more for privacy when u have patient info on papers

      @@vickiejayy4114 it’s great for protecting patient info when your at the desk and computer! I got one as a gift and I only use it when I know I’m going to be taking papers to someone else and it helps! It’s great for transporting papers! And writing as long as your taking patient info straight after the patients check up

    Heavy on the not needing the clipboard in clinical. I got one and found it so be so annoying to carry around. The little notebooks are the best!

    Bought somethings, but waiting for the nursing orientation for them to tell us what to buy exactly. Focusing more on bills to be past up to date on to December and home supplies so I don’t really don’t have to work. NOTHING wrong with used!!! My school we had to buy from them and spent very close to $300 for two sets and a community uniform including patches. iPad/tablet definitely required for us.

    • @vickiejayy4114
      @vickiejayy4114  Před rokem

      Yes definitely wait! At my orientation they told us to get the BP cuff, stethoscope, pen light & a plastic protector for our badge. What kind of program are you in?! Congrats on getting started on this journey as well!

    if anyone is looking for a good clinical shoe if your school doesn’t allow clogs i recommend the Sketchers D’lites. ik they’re kinda grandma shoes but there’s a reason- they’re so comfy. i’ve injured my back and knees and also have flat feet, but these don’t even hurt my feet after a 12 hour shift. game changer
    also i personally think a separate clinical bag is great if you are anxiety prone and forgetful. switching bags makes me feel like i’m always forgetting to put my clinical stuff in my bag and i commute 1.5 hours to my clinical site so turning around isn’t an option. personal pref ofc tho!

    • @vickiejayy4114
      @vickiejayy4114  Před 11 měsíci +1

      I will definitely look at those! If people call them grandma shoes they're probably 10/10 for nursing 😂
      Yes absolutely! Whatever works best for you girl! 1.5 hour commute I would probably keep a suitcase in the car with me just in case lol

    samsung tablets are a great cheaper option and they come with a pen so you dont need to spend any extra! especially if you are not an apple girlie

    Non name brand is not necessary!! Long as it’s sturdy, they all serve the same purpose!!! I think it’s the ONLY video of its kind 😂😂 of NOT keeping up. When you have kids and/or single parent the extra just doesn’t work.
