Luthien is the true face of the rebellion. Mon Mothma, Ezra Bridger, Hera Syndulla lost so many battles due to refusing to risk their conscience. Their rebellion was but a losing front. Thrawn used it to his advantage. Lutgen refused to be constrained.
But that’s the thing about Luthen: Terrorists can’t build governments. People willing to do anything to destroy their enemy will also do anything to preserve themselves, and that can be dangerous for a fledgling government.
You need Luthen Rael to lead the war, but you need people like Mothma to build a government
Luthen's actual goal was never to lead the war, his sole goal was to create an oppurtunity or more precisely to force situation from which war leaders and politicans will emerge. His entire plan is about finding people who can do things, people who think in specific way or by causing situations that will have cascade effect like the entire heist operation which was only about showing Empire's weakness and causing further opression which will make people mad. He just nudges everyone to take actions before it's too late and while in the show he is capable of bringing fight to the Empire himself or byt his "suboridnates" he isn't the one to actually lead wars or fights, he is just there to cause war to begin. He is Nemick's One action too much before revolution starts.
Think the whole point is that he's not the face. He gives up everything for the goal of stopping the empire, his whole life is a facade, He uses and sacrifices people to further the goal, he's lost his morals and knows what he does will be bad but is for the furtherment of toppling the empire, like peices on a chess board he plays the long game sacrificing pawn after pawn to get closer to checkmating the king.
Luthen is like the shadowy figure people always whisper or speculate about that gives orders and makes decisions but no one ever knows so we blame the face or praise the face for the action.
He's given Everything and will continue to do so, but once the empire is gone so is he.
Mon Mothma and the politician “leaders” of the rebellion are too afraid of any direct conflict with the empire; like the actual thought of fighting the empire in a non political setting terrifies them.
Luthen is the only one that really knows what he’s doing, and is willing to take risks and sacrifice for the greater good. Saw has the right idea as well, but he tends to take things to the more extreme.
@@Austin_Triebe Not true - Bail and Garm Bel Iblis have been supporting/leading underground terrorist groups, they just couldnt openly oppose the Emperor without their planet being orbitally bombarded.
Also, Luthen is just as extreme as Saw. Killing Cassian as a possible security leak feels like a really shit idea without some communication first
If Disney+ just hired you for trailers andor would be the most watched series in 2022
They'd want a show about as luthen as bad as I did after watching it
I love the complexity of a character committing atrocities in order to defeat an evil. Not to mention the fact that he’s fully aware of the evils he is committing to reach his goals. He’s the perfect one to recruit Andor, gives a lot of background to where we see Cassian at the start of rouge one

Luthen was already an interesting character to watch ever the first 3 episodes. His speech about eveything he's sacrificed has made him a LEGENDARY character. Amazing performance from an amazing actor on an amazing show.

scences are getting shorter and shorter with the raising of anger of the rebellion,
Music is getting faster and faster and more oppressive,
up to the point in the end when fighting back the empire,
scenes are syncronized with the music as well (of course).

Absolutely phenomenal writing on this show. To me this has always been what Star Wars is about and I am excited for the second season of Andor.
I'd argue that Bail Organa was the father of the rebellion. But yes, Luthen was vital in the rebellion, and the show is amazing

This is amazing! The sacrifice speech is one of my favorite moments the series.

This was like discovering Luthren for the first time all over. I can't wait for season 2, I'm dying for answers. What is he? A normal man pushed to far, a fallen Jedi, a Sith of the old ways? IDK and it's driving me crazy. Awesome edit.
I think he’s Jedi. He has Jedi and Sith holocrons, Jedi temple guard mask, and a kyber crystal. He has his staff which we only see used as a staff yet he tells the one guy to be careful with it when he points it at his face. Like a staff isn’t dangerous really… but a lightsaber??? It would make sense then. Also the voice he talks about could easily be the force. The ghosts he shares his dreams with could be dead Jedi. a lot of things click into place if he is a jedi

This video gave me goosebumps so strong I had to wrap myself into a blanket.
I didn't notice it the first few times I watched this but I love how during the opening bit every time the screen clears for more writing the Imperial symbol is replace with the Rebellion symbol. It's the focus on little details like that that separates the good from the great.
