- THE STORY OF PEGGY AND MOLLY
A BIG welcome to all new people arriving here & following our page .
We wanted to put together the story of Peggy and Molly for you to enjoy . Also for all our loyal followers who have enjoyed the ride thus far sit back and enjoy a recap over the years with many more adventures to come . . . .
It was a warm Sept day back in 2020 while walking Peggy at our local park we saw a baby bird alone on the ground.
After waiting around for hours we noticed the parents in the tree but did not want to go near this little bird , so we made the decision to rescue this little fledgling being very aware that this was an off leash dog park the afternoons became a playground of many different breeds of excitable dogs no bird would survive that so we took this fluff ball home and nursed it back to health.
When Molly first swooped into our lives, Peggy was a little unsure about the feathered visitor but after only 3 weeks Peggy started producing milk & Molly was drinking from Peggy .
A little concerned and shocked we took Peggy to the vet and they confirmed she was having a phantom pregnacy and prescribed a t-shirt to stop Molly suckling on her teats .
This secured an immediate bond between the two unlikely friends from that day on & Molly thought Peggy was his mum .
The next few weeks I couldn’t believe my eyes .
An English staffy with the jaws strong enough to crush a little bird and a magpie snuggling together & asleep with Molly resting his beak on Peggys nose . Peggy would put a tiny little stick in her mouth while looking at Molly wanting him to play , Peggy would adjust her play and always be so gentle .
Their favourite thing to do together is to sunbake. Peggy just loves it and Molly just opens up her wings and they lie there together .
They also loved to play with toys
Peggy had a litter of pups August 2021 we kept the only girl Ruby .
They are now best friends too
The trio are the most unlikely friends you have seen but their bond will never be broken
If only people had pure and loving souls like animals.
You mean like dolphins raping each other, birds stealing food from each other, dogs killing other dogs, cats toying with and ripping apart their preys? You really should to take a better look at nature.
Otters to their females and dolphins show that animals can be just as, if not even worst than us

What beautiful souls Molly and Peggy are and what an inspiration they are to us humans about how we should learn to live together despite differences. I love how Peggy is so incredibly gentle with Molly ❤️

This is truly an amazing friendship.
Every now and then Nature has a very rare once in a lifetime blossom and flower. This is one of those occurrences.
The Australian Magpie has a reputation for bonding a friendship with someone not of their kind. They are an amazing bird!
Not always are they a Mr Pecky Peck swooper, which only a few males do for good enough reason.
If you befriend a breeding pair, they will remember you and like good neighbours bring you their offspring for you to mind while the parents take a long needed break for an hour or two.
Have your garden tools ready.

I’ve always heard that magpies are extremely intelligent. To see it in action is pretty interesting. Two wildly different species interacting as friends is amazing. And humans seemingly can’t get along with each other. 😔

You’re so right! I’ve been adopted as human custodian to a magpie couple & their baby & they also act as custodians to me. They serenade me with their morning song, make it known when they’d like an occasional treat, run beside me in the yard or just generally hang close by playing about & have even take to following me some of the way on my neighborhood walks. They really are beautiful & very intelligent!
Oh my lord. My dog just popped his head out of the covers to see what dog was barking on my tv. This world never ceases to amaze me.

Hi mate. The Magpie's are so smart and funny. They learn to speak! Australian birds we get them here in New Zealand too, they're similar to our Tui. (But not as pretty I reckon 😉) Check out the Tui. Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿

Bless them, so very precious how beautifull. You, have to be very carefull of Sparrow Hawks, if little Molly is in the garden, on her own. They can be a danger to magpies, too.

Their friendship ended today 26.03.2024 when the Gold Coast council went and seized the bird🤬🤬 so much government overreach in this country!! People find an injured bird and think they’re doing the right thing by saving it’s life then 2-3yrs later the council (wildlife officials) seize the bird, the case is being investigated but I can near guarantee you that they will be brought up on charges!! We allow young violent criminals to walk free but we charge and fine innocent people for trying to save an abandoned baby bird🤬🤬

@@scottaznavourian3720 no it does not work, it took the government 7 weeks to discover that , and Molly the Magpie has since been returned to the family who found it on its own , on the ground , no other magpies around and they have looked after it and loved Molly tge abandoned Magpie 🙏

@@lindasmith9950 if you google it Linda, she was taken away from the family because they didn't have the right permit. She's a wild animal and could come and go as she pleased but, because she was interacting with the family, someone who had nothing better to do, reported them to the council and she was removed....a free bird, now in captivity...go figure. Anyway, latest is, the PM has got involved and it looks like they are getting her back 👏👏💞

My wife and I have been following this story since I saw it on another thread via Facebook. We both agreed these two animal friends should be reunited. It's a wild bird and has freedom to roam and live wherever it chooses.
