Thank you for a great but more importantly honest review.
I just bought a set of B2 9x45 as only my second binoculars I've bought since my first pair back in 1993 and got a pretty good deal on a set of used but LNIB B2 9x45
IMO if you are as serious a hunter as am I your binoculars are just as important to your success as you firearm or bow and IMO no piece of equipment is more important to your success, as important like a good spotter or great boots, yes but none more important
When I decided to buy a new pair of binoculars my research convinced me that binoculars in the $500-$600 dollar range just weren't that much better than my current binoculars to justify the cost and I would need to go to binoculars in the $1k price range to gain a significant optical improvement over my current binoculars
After literally watching dozens of evaluation and comparison videos and doing side by side comparisons of specifications of the Maven B2 9x45 vs the other five binoculars I was considering in the same $1k to $1300 dollar price range I decided on the Mavens they had HD glass fully multi coated lenses Schmit-pectin prisms great eye cups locking diopter huge rear eye pieces pretty good front and clear eye piece caps and pretty good accessories
Found my used but LNIB at the Rockslide
Every SbS review I've seen of the 9x45 Mavens put them even or within 95% of binoculars costing 1.5-2×+ as much
Can't wait to use them on a hunt

Great video. I own the newest model of SLC 8x42 and my father in law has the new Maven B1.2 10x42. I have done extensive testing in all lighting and conditions. The Maven is good, but my eyes just seem to be so relieved when I’m looking through Swaro glass. The Mavens I was refocusing at every distance where as the Swaro I literally could focus at something 100-200 yards away and never touch it again at all distances. Granted my binos are 8x and that helps, but the Swaro’s were clearer and easier on the eyes in my testing. Just my opinion.

Very glad you made this video. I have a set of the Leica Ultravid 8x50. I was going to semi retire them to 3D shoot use and get a set of the Leica 10-50. But, I’ve been looking at these Mavens and wondering.

I just purchased the Maven B.3 off a friend and I was not expecting to hear that, and I respect your opinion. Thanks for the review...

Nice review. I haven't looked through Mavens yet, but I have owned several pairs of Leicas and Swarovskis. I still have a set of 15×56 SLC that I really like for glassing off of a tripod here in Arizona. I think Leica makes some of the most crystal clear glass available. I recently bought a pair of "used" (the box had a little ding in it) Athlon Midas G2 8x42 binoculars off of Amazon for $223 and I am utterly shocked at how good they are for that kind of money. Some of these new lower priced manufacturers are knocking it out of the park. These big companies are going to have to lower their prices to compete or suffer big losses in my opinion.

I bought a pair of Maven B1.2's a couple years ago, my brother bought Swaro slc shortly after that. We have compared them head to head in all the conditions and we can't tell any difference.

I just ordered a small marsupial harness, looks just like yours, do those 9x45s fit? Looking to upgrade from diamondbacks 10x42s was looking at these or the Sig Zulu 7 10x42s

Great video! I also own the B5 18x56 & am considering the B2s to cover closer distances. I know the B5s use the fluorite glass and the image is incredible. Do you notice any diminished image quality from B5 with fluorite to B2 without it? Trying to decide between B5 10x56 & B2 9x45. Weight, size, ergos are not issue. Primarily interested in image quality. Thanks.

Personally I think the magnification and FOV of the 9x45 is hard to beat and the image doesn't leave you wanting more. I had some 10x42 b1's and I think I just like the b2/b5 prism better, I think you'll love em I'd you like the b5s!

@@ElliottPeters176 Ended up purchasing the B2 9x45. I could not find any difference in resolution between B5 fluorite glass & B2 non fluorite glass. The B2s are fantastic. Thank you for uploading this video, it persuaded me to take a chance on the B2s vs spending the extra cash for another set of B5s.

@@Jettemaus2so how big are those 15x56? I am considering the b5 10x56 as they have the abbe Koenig prisms and the 10x50 does not. Really I’m looking into the 11x45 b2 or the 10x56 b5. I’d like the 10 power and low light performance but how big are them things

I actually just sold them this month to fund a pair of Swarovski nl pures. I would have never sold the mavens but a buddy of mine gave me a price on the pures that was way too good to pass up and they are truly an incredible optic.
