    Umm SMO and cynergy is same price....

    I received my JF SMO Shaft 10 days back, I can say that it's really upgraded of the classic shaft, it has very low deflection and nice looking, it's also generates more power than the classic shaft.
    The only negative part for me is the tip comes with that shaft which I already replaced it, it's very hard as I am using Ultraskin Black Medium on my old JF classic CF shaft.
    I agree with you, the best sound is JF classic.
    As any new shaft, person needs a time to get used to the sound and feel of it.

      So, in your opinion which one is better to buy? smo shaft or the normal jf shaft?

    • @sayedredha1751
      @sayedredha1751 Před 6 měsíci

      @artdanniel9927 Without doubt, SMO

  • @mattevans1643
    @mattevans1643 Před 5 měsíci +1

    But the SMO and the Cynergy are the same price, so what do you mean it's cheaper than the others?

    • @kevintran1745
      @kevintran1745 Před 2 měsíci

      I'm pretty sure he means in terms of performance to cost ratio. The cynergy is usually considered the baseline for carbon fiber shafts in terms of low deflection. Since the SMO deflection is lower then the Revo, by technicality its better for the price. But you're limited to only 2 joint options (at least on the jflowers website). I can't say too much abt the carbon fiber type since cuetec and jflowers are still really vague on what the type of carbon fiber they use but performance the SMO beats it out, but in terms of joint option cuetec is better since it has a joint option for literally everything.

    I'm thinking about buying my first carbon fiber as my main cue. I don't have a budget for predator revo, or cuetec, or smo, however, I'm interested in your opinion about the classic jflower shaft. Since you have been testing different carbon shafts, in your opinion is the classic JF CF recommendable for beginners like me? or should I just save up for a more high-end shaft like SMO or Revo? I look forward to receiving your reply.
    BTW it's a good review, but I think newbies like me would like to see more of the Shaft's and the customized cue tips. That's just my thoughts though. ✌️
    Furthermore, the video just repeated approximately 3 mins 25 sec..

      Hi. So yes I do recommend the JF classic since it’s cheaper and comes with the Butt you get a great shaft and butt for that one low price. It’s definitely a great starting cue I’ve used my for over a year and still use it very often as it’s one of my favorites.

    • @PhillyFingers
      @PhillyFingers  Před 8 měsíci

      @@gilbertdixon64 honestly they all do. The Rego is the worst at that. And the best sounding is the JF classic.

      if you're looking for your first carbon fiber shaft. I still recommend Cuetec Cynergy shaft because it's easier transition from the wooden shaft due to the feel that similarly to wooden shaft that we know and love.

    Hey thank you for this video! Having both the classic jflowers and the SMO, how different is the taper on the two shafts? Is the SMO taper that much longer?
    Thanks!

    What is the conclusion of the deflection test? I understood your deflection test procedure, but does that give you any measure of how "good" a shaft is? Normally a deflection test measures how much deflection a shaft has. You didn't mention that. What do you mean that "the shafts perform equally well?"
    Or are you just saying which shaft you like because of its feel? If it's based on your feel, why call it a deflection test? Thanks for your clarification in advance.

    • @PhillyFingers
      @PhillyFingers  Před 8 měsíci

      It was not clear I am saying with every shaft. I was able to perform the shot with no problems, almost as if they’re all identical that said, I chose my favorite based on look, but also more importantly, based on price since to me, they were all equal in performance. And again performance defined by if there was any deflection, I would’ve made contact with the four ball the ball would’ve veered off to the right and touch the floor. I was able to never to touch the floor with every single shot.

    • @puboh
      @puboh Před 8 měsíci

      @@PhillyFingers The most important part is this sentence " almost as if they’re all identical". Since you are applying left spin, you need to aim to the left in order for the cue ball to hit the gap. It seems like in the video you are hitting the ball soft, in which case you might not need to adjust much aim. You didn't say this in the video and it was very confusing in my opinion. Because you can use any shaft and find the right aim point to achieve the same results. I appreciate you changing the same tip on all shafts and using the same butt. But I think the deflection test should be done with more care. Not that it needs to be perfectly scientific, but at least let us know what you are comparing among the shafts.

    • @PhillyFingers
      @PhillyFingers  Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@puboh fair point. I didn’t want to make it too long of a video but yes to add more clarification every shot was aimed at the same spot with the exact same type of speed. Never trying to adjust again it’s not perfect as I’m not a robot, but for the most part I never adjusted I was always aiming directly center into that gap not aiming off center or trying to compensate in any way shape or form so while aiming perfectly center to the best of my ability giving left spin, I was able to hit that gap every time. That said all four shafts felt identical to me. I will add that to the next video.

    Is this an ad? Not much of a test.

    • @PhillyFingers
      @PhillyFingers  Před 8 měsíci

      It’s an unbiased test I performed on 4 shafts where I state the results as to be which I feel is best. There’s a longer video of all 40 shots attempted but that I felt was too long and boring to post. So this is basically my summary of it. I wouldn’t say it’s an ad as I have no personal or monetary skin in the game as all my shafts are free and I’m not paid to score one higher than another. Hence it’s simply an unbiased opinion. Happy to take suggestions on other forms of tests you like to see this just happened to be one I used a lot to test for deflection only.

    • @lardass69
      @lardass69 Před 8 měsíci +2

      @PhillyFingers would be nice to see a fixed aim point and the measured deflection with max siding for each. With no fixed aim point any cue even high deflection can create similar results. Thanks for the content.
