Thats will be a good idea. At the moment the yokomo is wining due to ease of maintanence. Will hopefully have them out on track soon 🤞
Lovely video chap :) enjoyed that ! Was a really nice build and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Love to know how you get in racing it, mine will be most likely used indoors so I don’t see the shocks posing to much problem travel wise. Will most likely get the top deck as well to cut some flex out. 2.2’s on order as well ;) I’m like you really liking this one
Yeah, its a great buggy so far, gonna see if i can get it out next weekend. Just need to paint the body yet haha
Looks really good, really need to add one to my collection eventually. I am really going in deep in the vintage/oldschool rc at the moment,espicially Kyosho. And once one goes there one will never go back right😉anyway thank you for sharing and have a great week!

It is a interesting buggy. I enjoyed watching and learning a bit more about it. It is just one that doesn't do anything for me. I think they were just not really available or affordable when I was younger so I never paid them any mind. I hope you have fun with it and it does well for you.
Yeah same here, never had one back in the day, so its a buggy i wanted but wanted a runner. The build was easy apart from the screws, i enjoy the building the most these days 😁
@@lo2713 I am with you with the building part! Here lately I have struggled to want to do any painting at all but I really do love sitting at the bench building them up! I need a painter! LOL!

Nice video. I raced one of these back in the day and it was so much fun. 17T double on 7cell 1700mah SCE saddle pack. It was insanely fast.

Yeah i have heard a few rumours the 91 will be coming later this year 🤞 lightning components. You can find them on facebook and on ebay 👍
Thank you for this video. The flex is quite significant, probably would work well on bumpy dirty loose 80's track (obviously 😊). Shame you may not run it tomorrow, but health first 🤞Take care 😉

Servo used to be stuck down in old car and cut lugs of servo case. Many KO servo cases sold. Lol
Yeah i know a few people use these floating servo mounts on there dogfighters. But its good to see they updated that part 👍

I was thinking about spinning the spur around as I think it should move it a little closer to the motor side and thus line up the pinion a bit better. I haven't tried it yet.
Yeah luckly this motor has a bit extra sticking out, i think long boss pinions will be the best option ? I just need to find all of mine 🤔

I find Yokomo manuals easy to read, imo they are much better than Kyosho
Yeah i was saving up for a YZ10-R but then all these dropped. So went with all the new cars, back to hammering the overtime now 😂
The motor mount with the screws in the way that’s how they were back in the day. I would get long boss pinions also
Im still looking for the ones i have, have a box full but cant find them 😭 will have a better look when this cold has shifted 👍
Great video. Thanks for the tips and reminders. This will be helpful with my build as I'm in the process myself. I heard there was some confusion with the rear metal steering blocks that are also used in the front. I noticed that the rear steering block labeled "R" is on the rear left side of the buggy. So the steering block labeled "R" is on the rear left side and the "L" is on the rear right side? Thanks.
Not 100 sure on the rear hubs, its a bit vauge in the instructions. I just looked it over a few times and hopefully got it right 😂
@@lo2713 LOL... yes it is a bit confusing. It doesn't saying anything about flipping it around but on page 9, above the "Note Position" box it says to use "Steering Block R" when building the left side." I wish they would have wrote more clearly "use the Right steering block on the left side and the left steering block on the right." Or, just write, "reverse the steering blocks." Well thanks for getting back to me. I think you are right and I guess I just need some reassurance too.. lol thanks again.

Old cars were magnesium bulkheads not alloy, and had gaskets between chassis and bulkhead. Also belt tension was adjusted from underneath by pulling whole bulkhead back.
I thought it magnesium 👍 i never had the pleasure of owning a yokomo back in the day, good to hear it was built back then, sounded like they really went to town on its desighn 👍
I had the super dogfighter. Yes, magnesium bulkheads and ball diffs. It had an optional one way roller on the center shaft that worked best for carpet. Belt tension was same as today as I remember.

Hobbywing XR10 pro and a 10.5 motor. Just need to get it out on track now, cant wait 👍

I can't watch this right now but I will later. As someone who owned the original RPS Dogfighter with the trailing arm rear suspension and one shock shared by both wheels in in the front, I'm highly interested in one of these. Do you know if basic spare parts will be available? I'm thinking especially replacement drive belt and other drivetrain components. Thanks
In the uk MB models have spares in stock, not to sure about the rest of the world ? Its a great buggy, but i was hoping it would be an accurate rere, the changes make using original parts hard.
