My biggest pet peeve…people recommending lemon/vinegar mixed with bicarb/baking powder. They neutralise each other out!!!!! Lemons and vinegar - acidic. Great to use for cleaning. Baking powder - alkaline. Great to use for cleaning, provides good gentle abrasion. Mix them together and that lovely fizz makes it look really potent but they cancel each other out and you end up with a liquid very similar chemically to salt water. Very little use.
I like mixing soap with baking soda..... makes something similar to the pink stuff. Lol. Vinegar and baking soda really doesnt make sense to me. If I want fizz I'll spray it with hydrogen peroxide. Lol. At least then it is disinfected.
I really appreciated the video last week on cleaning with poor health. I could use the help/tips. The video mentionnes a link to the FB post, however I can't find it in the description of the video. I was also not able to find it in the FB group searching on key words like 'heath' or 'illness'. Would it be possible please to post a link? I woud be ever so grateful!
Handy hint for mirrors/internal windows...use a spray with vinegar in, spray the cloth til really damp, give mirror a quick wipe then USE A BONE DRY CLOTH (old flannel in my case!) TO BUFF! No smears! Only worked this out 2 weeks ago but it works really well & I have actually added in mirrors into my daily routine as a dirty mirror makes me sad. Once it's done well you only need a really quick wipe, it's a really quick job and I can do a full length & 3 large bathroom mirrors & oven door daily within the 15 mins 👍 Of course you don't have to do yours daily but it really is much easier with a buff & will help stop the residue build up 😁
Back in the past, I was always taught to use newspaper for the same reason. I still make my husband pick up a metro occasionally for cleaning purposes!
