    This is exactly where I need to be while in South Africa for SCHOOL ....my husband is now deceased and was a blood heir to the Rourk and Cox Family Legacy (Real Estate Gurus) in North Carolina ...this is the security I need as his WIDOW...see you in about 5 months...I love it already

    It's all a bit creepy. Even the way Douw Steyn named it after himself, and then plonked his castle so it overlooks everyone else. Seems almost cultish.

    From what I hear about south africa I can understand the will of peoplle of creaating a safe and comfortable place but is that a good solution ? I mean it seems like people are willing to live there alll there life, paked behind walls, fearing the outside world everyday to come in... Looks quiet anxiogene to me..

      Bra living in an estate is like living in a town that's just much better than the one next door.
      Do you know how nice it is to walk knowing you won't get mugged, knowing your home won't get broken into, knowing your family is safe, knowing you can drive your car in peace.
      Seeing your name I assume you are from Asia, where there are cities you can live without keys.
      When I visited Australia in 2019, even at 18 I could feel the peace the entire city has, where people can park their cars outside overnight, etc...
      Living in an estate is almost similar to living in a suburb when there are slums in the next township.
      You know how fortunate you are, and you can enjoy where you live.
      It's not much different than living in the city and avoiding homeless people. You just enjoy where YOU live.
      It's pretty normal to live in an estate or complex nowadays, and it's not like they never come out of the estate.
      There is also a certain amount of togetherness you feel in estates. I would have for sure liked to grow up in an estate (hot well off girls for days).
      Having only recently lived in a complex, in 2018 at 16, I really enjoyed it, and the surroundings are also relatively similar.
      Estate living is just like moving to a better town, it's still the same country.

    apartheid is still rife in this development......apartheid of the affluent wealthy folk...... this is quite sick civilisation.....once they exit the 'island' , which they will have to do, they, like all other 'normal' peasants, will have to face reality!!

    • @azzmm9344
      @azzmm9344 Před 8 lety +1

      +Bonginhlanhla Mbonane economic apartheid! only the privileged few that can afford to lock themselves behind the Jurassic park style fence can escape the real world problems of SA!
      This is not the answer to SA problems...to segregate communities.....this time its not a race aparthied...but an economic apartheid!!! #Steyncitymustfall

    • @scottfarlam1882
      @scottfarlam1882 Před 7 lety +4

      Maybe if the crime wasnt so bad in this country we wouldnt need live in these sorts of estates, soon there will be no more farmers and the price of fresh produce and maize will be so high that the poor cant afford to eat and we will be just like Zimbabwe! These places are safe for middle income families to live, not just white people! Why dont you ask JZ to sort out the problems in the country instead of always complaining about apartheid!
