I Used Firewood to Make a Chess Board!

I cut down a bunch of trees to clear an area to build my house. I split and stacked the wood to burn in the winter. I noticed the one tree had a darker color than the rest. I had the idea to make a chess board with it. I am not 100% sure, but I believe the darker wood is black locust and the light wood is sugar maple. The borders are made with ash wood, which was also a tree I cut down.

Both videos are excellent, however I used firewood years ago for projects and found the wear and tear on blades and equipment to be excessive. I spent to much time sharpening jointer and other blades and less time working on projects.

The only problem ive found with the glue and sawdust filler is that it won't take a stain.
