Make fun of the music, hair, and clothes from the 70's and 80's all you want, but at least we didn't walk around with our pants sagging down around our knees.
***** I would agree if "dumb" were all that it was, but it's worse than that. It comes from life in prisons. A prisoner with his pants pulled down like that is signaling to other inmates that he is available for sodomy.
***** To me it looks like they have just taken a shit in their pants - like a babies diaper hanging low and full. And they think girls think it looks good -…yea like seeing a hairy arse crack (that your showing your mates) or your jocks is so sexy.
The Sweet !!! The Sweet !!! -- these guys could easily blow any American Idol contestant off the stage with their arms tied behind their backs -- possibly the best rhythym/arrangement/genius songwriting of the era -- Fox On The Run is what I consider their "anthem" tune, and also happens to be my second favorite behind "Wig Wam Bam" - later stuff, such as "Fountain", is also priceless -- Brian was such a natural on stage, and those cut shots to Andy are hilarious.
Definitely one of the best rock'n'roll songs of the 70's. It's one of my favorites, for sure. I remember loving this song when my older brother played the record. Great memories.
My 30 year old son just walked into my office and said "Sweet they are good great music" just goes to show our music was the best stands the test of time
When i listen to that song, i go right back to 77. Can you even think of a better lyric? A better vocal? No. It doesn't exist. His voice was so incredibly pure. What a perfect song.
Its funny you say that, I wore out the cassette deck in my Mustang GT listening to this--no lie! I'll have to get it fixed so I can listen to it again : )
Driving to Cape Cod with my friends on a clear Summer's day in my mustang convertible while this song played on the radio. We were all singing at the top of our lungs! Great times....
I saw Sweet in January 1976 at Vets Memorial Auditorium In Columbus.,Ohio at the top of a triple bill with Styx and Eric Carmen, and this was their hit single at the time!! Thanks for bringing back such good memories!
I was 14 in (1975) when "Fox on the Run" came out.. going to the high school dance and this song was played all night then they came out with "Love is Like Oxygen" such an amazing band. Brings back great memories.
I was born in the 70s, and this band is still one of my faves....they rock the house....it's so sad that my kids don't recognize Ballroom Blitz...they need to see Wayne's World....and Little Willy is a personal fave, my cousin at 4yrs old had a dance routine for that song, and fox on the run is so classic...everyone should know this band!!!
This song has so much energy! One day after high school in the 70's we all piled into my friend's dodge polara, rolled down the windows, blared this song and drove on what seemed like forever.
I was 15 in 1975 and a buddy of mine had this on 8 track. We used to listen to it in his older brothers car with the old Mind Blower speakers of that era. Yeah Man! Take me Back!
oh dude! this song brings back the sweet teenage years and new arrival to America in New-Orleans. Everything was beautiful and the fat school-bus driver rocked on her seat while the radio blasted this heart-throbbing song to junior high kids w/ hormonal surge. Sweet innocent love of the 70s and KISS glow in the dark posters. What a time . . .
Brings back memories of youth! Thanks for uploading! A quick story I was at my nephews and we couldn't think of the name of the song, we called The Loop, dedicated it to my nephew, less than a year later my nephew died of a heart attack, age 42... But we loved this song, drink a beer and say a cheer for this song and cheer Rusty (my Nephew) as well! Thanks again for uploading!
YES the I am agree with some of the 70's fans, it was one of the best decades ever and they gone forever but, we still can dream about it, enjoy the beautiful music and respect the great talent the just to flow on those days. Thanks so much to all this wonderful artist that made us dream and believe in love. &70's forever!!!
Sweet is one of the best bands I have ever seen live ever. Along with Mothers Finest, KISS, Molly Hatchet and then some! By the way, you who love old glam rock or rock in general, this is a new Swedish local bands who played their first gig not too long ago at a music contest. Even when the drummer dropped his drumstick on the singer's back head, backing guitar dropped his guitar cord. The singer sang the wrong one occasion and later received a cymbal in the back. They have fun on stage!
Эту песню никогда не забыть!!!! FOX ON THE RUN!!!!!! Бегущий лис..... Господи...слушаю и слезы на глазах....как мы отрывались под нее и вообще под рок!! длинные волосы...цветы...ЛЮБОВЬ...ЛЮБОВЬ!!!!!! WORLD FOR LOVE!!! MAKE LOVE---NOT WAR!!!!!!

Shaun-you are certainly right about that-I was a sophomore in high school when this was a hit,but it brings back memories of my own little rock and roll band,Free Spirit(cheesy name,I know ,but it was the70's)! I used to torment my Ex-girlfriend,who had broken up with me for the captain of the football team by dedicating a song to her at the after game dances we played at every Friday night!! ,
willow11st Wyld Stallyuns..."free spirit" is an excellent name, ... and remember, if you play like jimmy page, john paul jones, john bonham, and sing like robert plant, it doesn't matter if you call your selves "cabbage"....ok?
din't even no this was sweet! - Back in the seventies we had no frame of reference. Unless you were a tru-chowder-head fanatic and called the DJ on the AM stations, you did not know who was playing what... (FM became more popular after 1972)
I was 15 , I remember this song playing in Radio in 1975..dancing and jumping with the girls in High School .. memories of my teens.. tears falling from my eyes... Greetings from Arica.... Chile
This is how I remembering hearing this song. Over loud speakers @ Bedford County Lake(VA) circa ' 75. Thank you for being my friend Gerald. (RIP) And Kathy (RIP).....
Heard this on Sirius 70's station, then bought it on I-Tunes. An awesome song can't believe it was from 1975, ahead of it's time sounds more like a late 70's early 80's tune. Fox On The Run and Ballroom Blitz are classics, two of the best songs from the 1970's.
What a great band. It is rare that all of the members of a band are capable of singing lead. That is what made them so great. That, and the fact that Andy was and is a brilliant and ridiculously underrated guitar player.
When I first heard this I thought it was silly and we all used to mock it. Years later I got it onto my iPod and realised what a terrific piece of work it really is. Truly a great rocker-- and were I still playing live I would include it every night. Thanks for bringing it all back :)
the fantastic 50,s, the scintilating 60,s, the super 70,s and the mega 80,s best decades of the music. Elvis Presley, Mamas and Papas, Randy and the raimbow, sonic and Cher, Carpenters, Abba, The sweet, Pilot, Chicago, Hall and Oates, A-ha, Cindy Lauper, Lionel Richie, Billy Joel, and many, many, many very good artits and bands we can find in those wonderful decades of music.
I remember when this song was a big hit on the radio. Sweet had SO many hits. Look it up. This was popular at the same time "Life Is A Rock - But The Radio Rolled Me" came to town. Ahhhh. Back in the day. Back in the day. We were treated to music. So few and far between, now it seems...
I was 1, at that time, but me and my older brother were listening to these songs in my teenage years all the time))) now I am finding these songs out back for me again. what a great song, strong verses and even stronger refrain!!!
I used to have a cassette tape i put in one day and simply recorded a day of AM radio in.. ? 1975? This was the number one song that Summer. Still remember the guy saying.. "And now the number one song in our top 40 countdown". Oh take me back in a time machine!!
Awesome !!! Great memories from my childhood, I was either 6 or 7 when I first heard this tune:) Liked it then, and still rock it out ( I have their greatest hits ). Turn it up!!!!
This was Top of the Pops on my turntable in early 1976. This was the record to blast out the windows of my bedroom with a real stereo system with real loud speakers; the way rock and roll was meant to be heard; not through little pissy earphones or computers like today. Vinyl records on a real stereo system will always be the best sounding way to really enjoy the music regardless of all the modern crap they try to shove down our throats today. Going to buy a new turntable and rediscover my vinyl
I also remember playing this 45 single all the time in 1974/5 as a young boy in grade 6 & 7 Primary School on my little portable record player that was like a little briefcase with a built in speaker and all.Just plug in and play lol..classic..

If that doesnt shut them up nothing will. That pants all the way under the boxers look is the dumbest "style" ive ever seen in my life
***** I would agree if "dumb" were all that it was, but it's worse than that. It comes from life in prisons. A prisoner with his pants pulled down like that is signaling to other inmates that he is available for sodomy.
***** Alex, I know that, just another reason why its the dumbest style to ever copy

I love everything you said!
I was 13 in 1976 and blowing out my bedroom windows with this one. One of the greatest songs of the 70s by one of the most underrated groups,
I love being the only 14 year old in my school listening to this amazing band! ROCK'N'ROLL!!!
Im young and like 60s 70s 80s music! Better than what u hear today!

I am 54. but still listen to the 70s, and 80,s . my 21 year old son loves the music like I do from the best times of my life.
The Sweet, BEST Glam rock band EVER! Under-rated and rare vocal harmonizing matched by few and equaled by none!!!!
Wow! What a great tune and to this day it remains a timeless classic along with their other Hits....
How GOOD were the 70's? Yeah, this good!
I saw Sweet in January 1976 at Vets Memorial Auditorium In Columbus.,Ohio at the top of a triple bill with Styx and Eric Carmen, and this was their hit single at the time!! Thanks for bringing back such good memories!
Man...I haven't heard this song in years and I still remember the all the words. Amazing.
I loved this when I was four, and I still love it. A great time to be a child.
Forever one of the best. Rest in peace, Brian and Mick.
I was 14 in (1975) when "Fox on the Run" came out.. going to the high school dance and this song was played all night then they came out with "Love is Like Oxygen" such an amazing band. Brings back great memories.
Such an influential band. Nikki Sixx lists them as a huge influence. And Gene Simmons, 'there would be no Kiss without the Sweet'. LOVE IT
I was born in the 70s, and this band is still one of my faves....they rock the house....it's so sad that my kids don't recognize Ballroom Blitz...they need to see Wayne's World....and Little Willy is a personal fave, my cousin at 4yrs old had a dance routine for that song, and fox on the run is so classic...everyone should know this band!!!
one of the most underrated band of their time. Phenomenal live show
Best version of this self penned classic from the best Glam Rock band of the 70's!
To top it all they could actually play and were great live!
I listened to this in 1975, and man, it still holds up!!!
Kto to jeszcze pamięta!? prócz mnie...

Rokeri iz moje mladosti - obožavali smo ih maksimalno!

Just one of a zillion great sounds of the 70's! There really is no end to the amazing music made in those days.
Ahhhhh the good old 70's... If we can only go back... one can only reminiscing the good old days... where did all the good times go?
There has never been a decade in U.S. history that blossomed with such a diverse variety of music styles, designs, movies, etc. Not even the 60s!!
Get "Desolation Boulevard".... one of the best rock albums of the 70s. one of the best ever. Sweet was a great live band too. Very tight.
I had that album...Every song on that album was awesome !!
2nd that!! My best friend had that album... played it from side to side.
Whuntmore That must have been a novelty album, most of them play round and round
Jack Spratt LOLOLOL!!! Poor terminology
Whuntmore On your part ...for sure.
Their "Ball Room Blitz" was in the Wayne's World movie of the early 1990's. Love this one and "Love is Like Oxygen." Sweeet!!!!

Why's it called the moon tower?
My 18 month old has made me play this 4 times in a row. He is dancing like no other. It is fantastic :-)

My left ear feels a little lonely ;(
I'm sorry, but the bass player kind of looks like actress Jacqueline Scott.
Ha! I see it!! It's Nadine from the movie Charley Varrick!
Sorry? Hell, Pamela, have the 1970s looked like Farrah Fawcett! :D
And at 2:21, the guitarist looks like Michael McKean from This Is Spinal Tap, only with darker hair!
pamela merino the lead singer has a little st. hobbins in him as well. nice observation.
