BREAKING: Man charged with attempted murder of girl in London's Leicester Square

Ioan Pintaru was charged with the attempted murder of the 11-year-old after she was stabbed "eight times" in an attack in central London.
The 32-year-old Romanian, of no fixed abode, is alleged to have grabbed the girl while she was visiting Leicester Square with her mother, put her in a headlock and then stabbed her.
Westminster Magistrates' Court was told the young girl's mother was not injured in the attack.
Pintaru was remanded in custody.
