It's amazing how much they have done
INCREDIBLE! It's so awesome to see young people work their vision - not afraid of hard work - using all their talents, knowledge and skills to build a wonderful life for themselves! I'm 71 years old, and been feeling like young folk just don't care anymore. But I know better, so it's inspiriing and refreshing to be able to watch you guys in action! Blessings to you as you continue to build your dream!
I hear "older" people often complain about how younger folks "just don't care", and my assumption is that this view was formed some time ago when Gen X was the "young folks". It may help you to understand WHY we "don't care" so that you may complain less and understand more. Let's start with the world WE grew up in:
We grew up seeing out elders living out an expensive, impotent, and truly frightening Cold War, where any day, we could simply vaporize into a city-sized cloud of superheated radioactive gas. We got to watch our elders rape and pillage every last natural resource the world has to offer. We got to watch YOUR generation steal from each other and the future (that is, us) in a global orgy of greed and over-consumption. We literally saw the sun go from taking a whole day to burn our skins down to under one hour -- it is built right into the SPF ratings. We got to see more courageous segment of the generation before us (you) fail in their own protests against what most of you eventually became yourselves. All the while, you wagged your fingers at us, essentially saying "do as we say, not as we do". So come on down off that high horse and please explain what was left for us to actually care about after you ruined everything? So yes, when you live in a dying, frying world that your parents created, it becomes difficult to "care" about much. And your legacy lives on.
I realize that your sentiment was a good one, but the underlying assumption behind is is pure hypocrisy. Perhaps you could give back, and provide some encouragement to those of us in the true lost generation, instead of kicking us to the curb emotionally, as usual, to shower your grandchildren with all the praise. They didn't have Tuck and Cover drills in school or any of the other existential torture that we endured.
As a mom, even if I'm not your mom, I am so proud of what you two have accomplished. Great to see the progress in this condensed version.
I love you "kids", I'm 68 and have gotten to live my dreams. Passing the baton on , to people like you and Trent and Allie, I get to witness the effort you are making to create a future. It's heartening and my hope is that you get to use your future in the best ways you can. Oh you never thanked me for planting the "geodesic dome" seed in your heads

What an adventure you have been on. Traveling and then homesteading. Can you imagine doing this after you retire? Glad you got to do this early and thank you for taking us along. One decision can take you on an adventure of a lifetime or keep you doing the 9 to 5. I hope to get traveling in a year or at least part time travel.
You can see where hard work and persistence pays off. You are both awesome people and I have watched the entire journey. Thanks for sharing it all in one video.

Even though things don't work out and situations come your way you still continue to work and pursue your dreams and that's the spirit I like about you both.

Wow. That was a LOT accomplished in a small period of time. You should be, and rightly so, proud of your efforts and yourselves. Very impressive.
I watched you 2 the video after you signed for the land. Amazingly awesome. I wish my 60 yr. old body could do that again, I have arthritis so bad in both knees. But I have remodeled my kitchen in my mobile home that has wood flooring a new roof sheet rock walls and I am proud of it. This has been a process of 12 years, since my son left for his first year of college. I love it. I'm told I thought you were done, but there's always something that I think of

Oh the joy & satisfaction of starting from scratch & building Lola’s Farm - from farming to erecting structures & completing a homestead & learning all the trade skills in the process. Well done!
My son has a homestead on a hill outside of Salem, Oregon and the wind gets really intense up there as well. I've given up trying to "camp" up there in a tent, because the wind gets so intense. Lot's of good hard work guys!!! Can't wait to see what you do with the next 6 months.

I don;t know either one of you two in real life but I am so very proud of you both. Your love and commitment to each other and your land is beautiful. The world needs more people like you 2. I love and appreciate your videos. Your truly living life as it should be lived. Keep keeping on guys. Because of you both, I have decided to plant,grow and harvest a garden in my backyard. By far, I have no green thumb. The garden was my mothers joy. She passed last year and I was conflicted as to if I should try to keep her yard. Thank you for the help to influence my decision of yes. I see how hard you both work and that too is inspirational. hope your windy days become breazy.

I can't tell you how proud I am of you both -- same as many other subscribers below, I never miss a single episode, but I loved watching this montage - your progress has been phenominal and your energy and excitement a total joy to watch. I dont know how I found this but glad I did , its incredible when two people agree and know how to control their own limitations they can acheive anything, by not taking no for an answer. You have built a mini paradise there, I love how you can see the weather rolling in. Well done building your lives in this place.
That compost toilet is a cool idea, I've had one for a long time. One change you need to make though, is that you need to have a smooth, non-absorbent surface to bolt the toilet seat to. Something that doesn't have fissures, cracks, gaps in it. You could use shower siding material, that glossy stuff, or you can use a piece of plywood, as long as you paint it really well. The point is, you need to be able to clean under and around that toilet seat, and when people dribble and miss which they inevitably will, you don't want that absorbing into places you can't clean. If you don't, it wont last, it will begin to stink and you wont like it.
It fills my heart with joy to watch the two of you as you learn new skill sets, and build your life together. You have accomplished so much in 6 months! Hugs to Lola ❤️
(tip for anyone starting to grow their own food: when soil is opened, with shovels, etc. it destroys the microbes needed to grow vegetables, so as you take out anything green,layer equal parts of green & brown plant matter on top of your garden bed to nourish the soil - also, leave any small rocks in the soil - they contain minerals needed in your produce)

Wow, this was a great overview of your accomplishments. I'll admit, I was one of the skeptical ones in the beginning. I know you've made some mistakes along the way but you have learned so much, and you continue to learn. Watched this channel for a few years I am glad they planted some roots. Much more engaging watching their progress than their travels. Besides I always worried for their safety constantly traveling all those countries. The channel is more interesting which I look forward to with my mourning cup of coffee if my business ever gets back to normal I want to buy some of theirs at my age I need a mourning movement!

Hey Guys, I'm 57 and I came across your videos and have watched your journey in Panama. It has been a joy. I once lived a nomadic life for ten years. Lived a simple life living off the land and sea. I travelled far and wide looking for a place to lay-down roots. Funny really, it was my country just a different part. I moved to Scotland and have been living there for the past 27 years. I have one last adventure ahead of me. Retirement I am moving to S/E Asia travel and look for a place I can call home. You guys inspire me to move forward with my plans. How time goes by so fast...
