  • Craig Button joins the show for the 'Pro Am Sports Big Guest of the Day' to talk about the Edmonton Oilers in their last two games before moving on to playoff matchups. He shares his thoughts on which playoff matchup he's looking forward to the most before making his picks for the Western Conference Final. He thinks that Vegas would be dusted by the Oilers if they met. In the east, he picks Boston over the Leafs in their series. Button then claims that the Hurricanes have enough power to get past the Rangers.

    Dust is a strong word.

Even bandwagon Button got it almost right. The team you need to be aware of is the JETS. An Oiler / Jets western final would be epic. It is not "ODD" as you say that the Jets have the home ice advantage, they earned it.

WE CANNOT TAKE ANYONE LIGHTLY OR BE OVER CONFIDENT! I dont care if we've beaten them twice before! Our defense could easily start playing the same game we did at beginning of season. THAT cannot happen....G O G!!

Dust Vegas? I hope so, but I'm skeptical. I don't think Vegas is as bad as people seem to think. And I think that if the Oilers play like they did last year with all those stupid penalty's at bad times, they won't have any chance Vs Vegas. That type of thing almost cost them that series VS LA last year. My faith in the Oilers to learn from past mistakes is only 50%. But maybe I'm wrong.

Vegas has had SO many injuries this year. Eichel, Stone, Petrangelo, Theodore, Aiden Hill, etc. Now they''re getting healthy and they added Hertl and Hannifin. i think they're a tough out. Button sound stupid not mentioning this and only looking at their record.

We heard that last year when so many were picking Edmonton. We saw how that turned out. LA is going to go nuts on hitting Edmonton in order to slow them down. They will be interesting to see what type of shape they are in in the second round.

    Some comments.
    1) playoff officiating helps clutch and grab and generally dirty teams. Advantage LA
    2) Anti Canadian officiating, exacerbated in playoffs, helps American teams. Oilers won 5 of seven games against ducks in 2017. DO you remember a 2 meter offside against Colorado? I do. Do you remember Deharnais spending most of the games in the box for smiling last year? I do. Do not take American teams for granted!

I don't think the clutching and grabbing is much more common as hitting is certainly allowed much more leeway.

Button is funny. Dust Vegas? Doubtful. They were 1-1-1 against them this year even when Vegas was banged up. Now Vegas will be mostly healthy. They have added Hertl and Hanafin to the starting lineups and Stone and Carrier are also going to be back along with Petro. It may be interesting how Edmonton fares again heavy teams. They weren't exactly spectacular against winning teams over the year.

Button is wrong. Toronto is going nowhere with a PP that limps along at 10 per cent. And with 4 forwards who suck up half the team's cap. You have to put it on the coach.

Isn’t Vegas $20 mil over the cap? They’ll be a hard team to play against. Stone is back in the lineup

We thank your GM/Owner for voting for this rule allowing us to do so. And yes, Stone is back, so is Petro and Carrier.

Soooo easy to say now that Edmonton dodged VGK. What a brutal fanbase. I hope LA makes you cry....and of course you'd blame the refs per usual. 😂
