When our favourite artist dies, one of the saddest things is accepting that there will be no new songs, new videos, or new photos. What we have known is what we have, what we can count on; but sometimes within the legacy left by the artist, wonderful surprises appear like the one you share with us here. An excellent presentation with impeccable image and sound and a spectacular reaction from the audience in the studio. Thanks VJ for sharing this gem!
There is the potential for LOTS of new songs, new photos, and new videos. It's just a matter of her estate getting its act together and actually starting to release items from archives.
Once of those RARE performers from the disco era whose live performances, as in these two, could actually exceed the performance quality of the original recordings. Dear beautiful lady, your voice was exquisite, you were a beautiful lady and a beautiful person. The angelic choir in heaven has been joined by yet another voice whose Crytal clear voice can never be forgotten.
We had lives of no important complications. Now it's have to live trying to dodge all that only cares about money, no matter what we're supposed to accept from in return. Life is now a constant rip off. Those kind of Zombies love it all, others let it constantly happen, and both think it's an honest living.
all i can say is i really wish we could have those days back you where my singing hero when i was a teen i love and miss you so much rest in power my sista !!!!!!!
God she is one amazing vocalist... right up to her passing. The quality of her voice barely changed. Definitely one of my most favorite female vocalist 😍
I danced to her songs a lot in the 70s at the Disco Inferno. Every night her song Last Dance was the last dance of the night. Loved all of her songs. Glad I grew up in that era! Love to listen and let the memories of her songs come back.
A shame she was never recognized appropriately. No lip-syncing, sung live, sung real. Never inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Truly a shame.
This live version far exceeds the recorded version. I love how her personality comes out in this video. She’s so beautiful and gracious, and you just smile watching her and seeing all of the audience just totally happy and excited to see her.❤❤
It happens that I can compare her with Selena as it matter off facts Selenas was a Donna summers huge fun both where beautiful and charismatic there voice will never die
@@Mr02151965 hey dude I grew up on Donna Summer, when disco was at it's height and hey day with most female singers riding the disco craze, Donna Summer took the mantle of Queen of Disco and nobody could deny that she was the best. Donna Summer = Queen of Disco...I saw it unfold with my own eyes.
@@aarondigby5054 off course she was my Queen even though I was 13 years old when I started to listen to her back in 1978 and until now there’s no other singer besides Sade that will take her Crown 👑 off course Sade is a different time
Wow! It's ashame that Donna died and did not get full credit. She was the benchmark for that whole disco fence era. And it was a great era indeed. The main point, have fun and enjoy being young. 😁
Wow. Wow. And, wow, again! She set such a high bar for vocalists/musical artists. So few since have come even close to her natural talent and stage presence. She'll always be my favorite singer and I feel blessed to have seen her perform live twice. It was real music, real theatrics and, most of all, a real voice. Donna Summer is incredible.
She was my first favorite singer. I remember being about 8 years old and thinking she looked and sounded as beautiful as an angel.... Always will love her!
One of my favorite songs even though i have not been to the park and continent love from trini always Queen Donna Summer...keep on shinning in power..ire ooo.
I was given a pair of tickets in 1983 on her evening concert that I had no idea about. I called up a friend (girl) and asked her if she wanted to go and she agreed. We were still teens and had no idea on to get to Concord from San Francisco and didn’t own a car. So we took the Bart train and we both had no experience of the city of Concord but were determined to see the legendary Donna Summer. The concert was great and glad to see her once. This was for her “She works hard for the money tour” and that song and video was a big hit and played all the time. After the concert, we rushed to the Bart station and we almost missed the last train and would’ve got stuck in Concord and didn’t have money for a cab ride back to the city. Thanks Bill Heart for the free tickets.
Wow, it was hated by some people back then, the Disco Era, but this was a awesome era when people of all races just got together and danced their cares away, to the one and only, Donna Summer.
Saw her live at the Universal Amphitheater. When she sang those first notes we all looked at one another with astonishment. The power and depth of her voice had a sound all its’ own. What a loss. Sing from the heavens Donna !!!
OMG! Can't believe I came across this on CZcams! Remember this too well!! Fall 1978! 8th Grade! 13 yrs old! What great memories. RIP Donna Summer and Dick Clark🙏
Thank you for posting this! I was in 10th grade in high school when this aired. I’m not gonna lie, I miss those times. Way less complicated because of being only 15 years old. The song “Last Dance” came from a movie called Thank God It’s Friday. Every Friday morning at 8:00 a.m., the guy making the morning announcements over the the P.A. at my school, Belmont High School in Los Angeles, would start by saying “T.G.I.F. Sentinels!” 💚🖤
Amazing! Donna dominated disco like no other. It pains me that she isn't given the respect that she deserves. I hate hearing the same artists and songs all the time on the classis stations here in LA, with Donna being played every blue moon and mostly just Hot Stuff. And true one hit wonder are in heavy rotation.
Irene Cara said that she and Donna Summer were good friends. Now both of them are lighting it up in heaven. They did what God sent them here to do. May he be pleased with them.
My older sisters played her albums all the time when I was little back then, her voice always sent chills down my spine with her vocal range. A beautiful woman with a voice only angels could dream of. Long live your music Donna xx

She lives on thru her music and the good way it made people feel.
