Hey Bob, where were you in 1978 when I was trying to play the trumpet as a teenager, I could have used all this info back then, I never had a teacher or instructor or videos like this, very helpful great tips. I'm gonna try with your tips now at 59 years old, I only wish utube was available back then, awesome video, greetings from H town, JJ.

I've looking for another good trumpet channel for ages. As always we are eclipsed by sax players! Fantastic content. One new sub.

At soon to be 59 decided to give the trumpet a blow. Started a few hours ago. Wow much harder than I thought. New sub here. Great video look forward to watching more. My background is classical guitar and in my late 40’s the saxophone. So looking forward to the horn. Thanks again for the video.

nice vid.. thanks! I'm a drum/bass/guitar guy but I like to dabble in keys and band instruments. I had a trumpet 20 years ago but gave it away after little use and no natural ability.. lol I would like to take another look at one in my retirement years :) You make it look so easy and sound so good.

I am 71 and decided I want to sing again with the trumpet after laying it down for 55 years. Got a master degree teacher in trumpet, a new horn and hope my patience is good enough to let me learn it over. I know it will take work and time. I want to build it slow and correct. High register can come after a few years.
I hear trumpets in our university marching band or concerts and only listen for the trumpets.
Now I have your wonderful CZcams channel!

As a Trombone player, I'm happy that i've started my trumpet journey. Do you have a recommendation for my mouthpiece options? My lips are on the larger side, I have a 1C mega tone, I would actually be happy with something a bit larger. Awesome videos!!

You never mention that not everybody can lip-buzzing. Thin lips like yours and many good trumpeters can lip-buzzing easily. Thick lips show red so much and can not fit inside of the mouth piece not matter how they try to curl.
