DIY Toy Bomb Action Figure - Custom Build from a little green ball

  • I found a little green ball on an evening walk and knew I had to make a toy bomb action figure out of it! This DIY bomb action figure was really fun and came together pretty easily. With some Mickey hands, a random pair of boots and a few custom parts I think this Toy Bomb turned out pretty cool. It reminds me a little of the Mario Bomb Bob-Ombs.
    I have titled this build "Don't Play With Fire"
    I hope you enjoy this custom DIY Build!
    Thanks for visiting DR Toys, have a great one!

    This Bomb Bot is really cute, not sure how I missed this one but glad I got to see it today! I think I really like the simplicity of it. He looks like a HAPPY Bomb Bot, not all depressed or anything, just comfortable with who he is. 😉

    I wish you would've painted over some of the detail in the shoes in white again. But other than that the bomb looks awesome!

    Dude I LOVE this!! Sooooo cool. I would buy that thing in a heart beat.
    Also, I feel your pain.... that's one of the worst things when you peel the tape off and take the paint with it. Like you said, even after you touch it up YOU can still see the flaw and its soul crushing. My wife always tells me "only you can see it, let it go". But..I just can't...
    Looks great though.

  • @ToonGrin
    @ToonGrin Před 2 lety

    This was a neat project.
    The character looks like a 1930s rubberhose character.
    Somethings I noticed that might help in future projects.
    If I had to guess why the paint pealed its because the foundation paint did not absorb into your base, it sat on it and that's why it got pulled. What might have worked is to have done a thin clear coat let it cure then then the eyes then clear coat again.
    Given you said air came out of ball its likely it was a slush cast to make it hollow so if you want a filler in the future you could make a hole, tape off the surrounding area and use a expanding foam to fill it up so it's got a bit of solidity for it.

  • @occamsrayzor
    @occamsrayzor Před 3 lety +1

    This is a really fun, imaginative piece! The problem with the peeling paint is 100% due to the nature of that kind of plastic. I've had the identical problem many times, no matter how careful I am, because that plastic just refuses to hold onto paint. It still turned out really well, all the same. I like it so much that I may try it out myself. The only thing I'd do differently is a couple of pupils in the eyes, looking up at the match ;-)

    • @DRToysCreations
      @DRToysCreations  Před 3 lety +1

    Great little bomb toy/bot build! I love the idea of using hot glue to make the flaming match. I do think he needs a big toothy grin though and maybe some white shoelaces to balance him out. The end result was awesome, I love it! Only problem is now I am looking around for a ball to make my own. 😀

    Very cool little project, he is nifty. Kudos for the tongs lol lol lol. I think the only thing missing is maybe the laces on the shoes would make him pop just a tiny bit more , but either way I like it. again Very Cool. Keep them coming. Plus I like the two different matches great idea.

      @garzilla7123 Před 3 lety

      @@DRToysCreations I really think it would pop with the laces white and the more I look at it I also think that the band around the shoes at the top might look good in red just to match the match, again that is just a thought. You really come up with some cool ideas. This one really put a smile on my face.

    That resonates a bit with what I've been thinking since yesterday. I have a lot (I guess about 20) balls from deodorant (or whatever you call this thing in english). and I thought it would be nice to make kinda bombs of them and put in the hands of a robot. But for now I don't have anything in my mind except the hand, holding a ball.

      @DRToysCreations  Před 2 lety

      @@DRToysCreations I meant make the toy bomb out of the PacMan figure but you don't have to. I got this video through my recommendations so I was not familiar with what you do; my first hint should have been you were making an action figure out of a random ball you found. Either way, cool video and nice action figure.
