@@allinonethegreat Kontakt 6 + midi keyboard 61 key costs around 900 Euros, Krome SX 61 costs 1000 Euros. Krome EX 61 is by far a better deal. It has proper sequencer, on board rhythm machine, effects system and it has "hands on" sound editing capabilities with dedicated processor. No way Kontakt + midi keyboard are better than Krome EX 61 or Roland Fa-61.

I own MODX. Still consider Krome an interesting instrument. Of course if I had to choose between the two- I'd go fro the MODX, but ... it doesn't mean Krome is a toy. Awesome keyboard IMHO. The problem is... it's just a refresh, not an entirely new one, like the MODX. That's probably why it doesn't stand a chance against THE Yamaha.

@@JohanAndresjohanskey I guess you know the price difference right? and also that KORG's main competition in the mid-range do have built in audio interfaces. I reviewed the original KROME back in 2014 and I really liked it but suggested it might be useful to have an audio interface as did the Yamaha MOXF and Roland FA06 I had on test at the same time. The new KROME EX is essentially that same KROME I looked at nearly 5 years ago and although not a deal breaker for many I still think it should be sporting an audio interface by now.

@@Roboprogs Yeah that's what I don't get. USB audio is pretty much a standard these days...although saying that, Yamaha's flagship Genos doesn't have it! Not sure what they were thinking there. Anyway I would imagine that much like Yamaha have done with the MX, KORG are getting as much out of the existing KROME as possible before moving on. So KROME is still a really nice board but...2019? needs to be a little more.

I purchased a Krome EX 61, and put it up for sale after 4 days.
    Why?
The keys - they felt like a £49 Casio keyboard, and I'm shocked that Korg let this go from the production line.
With a list price of about £995, it's not a complete budget synth.
You may see this comment in other video's. Not because I'm pissed off with Korg (I have a Triton, which is still amazing) but I don't want someone to make the same mistake as myself, and regret spending the money. If you can - TRY IT OUT FIRST!!!

Not a question. There is 150% difference in price. Krome EX is a rompler synth with integrated sequencer, but otherwise a limited keyboard. You can create your own demo songs, play live some lush multitimbral patches with rhythms. Kronos on other hand is a true workstation, you can record audio, import and mix audio samples with internal engine. Internally it has a few synth engines in addition to rompler section. Also there are more connections for professional usage. Krome-Ex is something like personal mini synth workstation (no samples), while Kronos is a full fledged studio workstation.
