  • Opening day at Valleyfair for the 2024 season. This is my fourth straight year going to opening day at Valleyfair. I note many small changes and things that have stayed the same throughout the years. Basically, Valleyfair has a handful of newly rethemed, remodeled, or rebuilt food locations and a number of vacant ones too. I speculate on various improvements Valleyfair can make in various locations while discussing things that haven't changed at all in the park that I wish would. I got rides on Steel Venom, Wild Thing, and Renegade. My two Renegade rides were notable for being quite a bit more rough than in years past.

Absolutely. I plan to keep doing these every year. I have a lot of fun making these videos. I'm hoping to make three or four more Valleyfair videos this summer. I'm extremely excited to be able to make Valleyscare videos this fall too. I'll be making at least two of those this fall.

Hi Roller Coster Motor, I am visiting Minneapolis in early July for a week or 2. How busy does the park get on weekends in early July?

Pretty busy. The waterpark can get especially crowded. Rides usually have shorter waits during peak waterpark hours though. If you only want to do rides then you're unlikely to have an issue getting a ride on everything with some rerides. If you want to do the waterpark too then it may be tricky, but still very doable. The worst line might only be an hour. Rides like North Star, Steel Venom, and Mad Mouse usually get the worst lines like 45-60 minutes. I'd prioritize those three. Wild Thing tends to have the among the shortest lines due to high ride capacity. Renegade is the best ride in the park, but with two train operations a 30-45 minute wait is usually the worst it gets. If that ride has one train operations then it may exceed an hour.
If you have one full day and want rides and the waterpark then I would strategize. If you have two full days then you won't really need to strategize at all and may run out of things to do.
