- I think we've all been waiting for this one for quite a while...
Using EVERY SINGLE EPISODE, and ALL THE JAPANESE DUBS, and even THE TV VERSIONS of the 20-minute episodes all lined up in a truly gob-smackingly massive Audacity file, I ended up with THIS. I even managed to snag the final seconds which are normally cut off or faded out. Pretty much the only thing left wrong with it is the static interference that keeps fading in and out, but I mmmmay be able to eventually fix that if I can be bothered to redownload all the English episodes again in higher quality.
Hope you all like this, and - yes - you can use this, otherwise I wouldn't have made it for you lot! ;-)

Until I discovered TUGS some years ago, I never realized how beautiful a show about tugboats could really be. This piece of fine music proves just how grand it was.
I don’t know if there is much I can say about this show that hasn’t been made evident millions of times before, so I’ll just say that this show was quite the one-Hit-wonder. I enjoy it still, and despite there being only 13 episodes, this show is and always will be a masterpiece.

I think this is one of those credit themes which are just wonderful, but also make you (as a little child) sad that the episode is over, because the melody actually is a slightly bit sad-themed. Nowadays, of course, it makes us fans sad that there were only 13 episodes of the show.
Rheneas on SIF has made some killer Fanfiction, I swear it feels like David Mitton rised up from his grave to write some more tugs episodes
Especially sad since it was supposed be more than one season. It was supposed go on for another several.

How about both the beginning of the 70s all the way to the ending of the 90s. The 70s, 80s, and 90s were awesome times for children of all those years in all those eras combined to grow up in.

I remember a time when a lot of effort was put into children's TV shows. Such a beautiful 80s vibe that brings nostalgic tears to the eyes.

That's the exact same thing I was thinking about. But I'm glad I'd finished high school 🏫 in 2005.
Sometimes I wish that TUGS had a true US release with the stories staying the exact same and having American voice actors instead of being put together and COMPLETELY rewritten really poorly by Salty's Lighthouse. It really would've gained the show's popularity and we may have gotten a 2nd season. TUGS must be revived! It never had the chance to truly come out of its shell, but yet it had SO much potential!

In saltys lighthouse the tugs appeared in every episode they would show the tugs working but they had American voice actors and always used stock footage from the thirteen episodes and 2 of the tugs had different names Big Mac was called big stack and o.j was called odes (sorry if I spelled that wrong) and it also wasn’t as dark and also had more kid friendly plots

The end theme at 0:24 is so beautiful and epic.
That all happened because of a few hasty words and bad tempers. Orders may be orders, but they've blinded Bluenose from using simple common sense and from keeping level-headed... So a tiny incident grew into a big disaster, and the old dock was left in ruins. We should have the greatest respect for fire. Just think what might've happened to Ten Cents and his friends just because Bluenose didn't...

Literally played this the same day I finished my final day of school.
Even for me as an Australian teenager, the ending credits of an old UK tv show from the late 80s, it felt so nostalgic and magical.
The ending music from episode 13 deserved to have been its own song, could have even passed for the titanic it was that good, look it up if you get time, its the same as this if not a bit slower with singing, truly a master piece. A shame the song cannot be found anywhere on CZcams as just the song.

I just noticed this about the Star Tugs' leitmotif/the ending theme. It seems to go up and down with a rolling cymbal sound typically associated with occen waves, as if a mighty tugboat is braving a fierce storm, powering over the waves to get to the docks on time.
Sheer music-writting brilliance, I'd say.

Both the intro and outro in this show are majestic, and one of the few themes in a show i won't skip.
I always cry whenever I listen to this end credits. So many happy memories.

Mate this is so clear, the memories this program brings me are unreal! Can still see myself sat in my grandmas busting the tape of this out and watching em all! Brings tears to my eyes cos it just reminds me of being back with them, I lost them 17 and 18 years ago, but when I hear little memory jogs like this it makes me shed a tear!

I love this so much. I love Tugs the series about as much as i love Thomas & Friends, and trust me i love that show A LOT. I love the music from both, but this ending theme, IMO, is one of the most beautiful pieces of music i have ever heard overall in general. Thank you for blessing my ears with the full version of this absolutely beautiful music

老龙 The reason for the shows cancellation was the loss of the show's publisher Television South's (TVS) broadcasting contract in the UK when the Broadcasting Act of 1990 triggered an auction for the ITV regions. TVS bid over £54 million but lost to Meridian Broadcasting for a lower sum of £36 million because they could not agree with certain terms. But yes it was quite sad that it got cancelled along with one of the best television stations of the time.

+MKtheinstrumentalist Northumberland's whistle (from Theodore Tugboat) was originally used in the ending credits of TUGS at 0:31 , but it was put at a really low pitch so you would have to put it at really high pitch or put it at 3.10x speed then slow it down to hear it .
