I like chemical sunscreens anyways over mineral so VERY excited to add another one to the list of possibilities! BOJ not nearly as oily although i dont use moisturizer under sunscreen and it is sometimes a bit too radiant for my taste. it's one of if not my favorite though. recently tried skin aqua super moisture milk and it's fantastic. might beat out BOJ even. very little if any radiance - pretty much just a natural finish but not drying at all

For those looking for alternative the SCINIC ENJOY SUPER MILD SUN ESSENCE is another korean brand that deserves more attention because it also has nice ingredients and better overall UV filters than Isntree, skin1004 and BoJ.
    Key Ingredients:
    Anti-acne: Niacinamide
Antioxidant: Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract
    Skin-identical ingredient: Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate
    Soothing: Panthenol
*UV filters: Uvinul A Plus, Tinosorb S, Parsol SLX, Tinosorb M, Uvinul T 150, Uvasorb HEB
Parsol Slx and Tinosorb S is missing from
BoJ and Skin1004 while Isntree has no Uvasorb HEB. thus, scinic should be better in terms of UV protection and also less expensive than those 3 sunscreen mentioned in the video.

I've also tried the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Air-Fit sunscreen (mineral based I believe) and though it has a slight white cast its definitely one of the best mineral sunscreens I've tried so I imagine their chemical version is even better as I normally prefer chemical.

When a product you are trying irritates you and your skin feels sensitized, what are the products that save you and how long does it take you to return to normal? Hi Kelly I tried the BofJ spf after seeing all the hype. Unfortunately on patch testing (as I do with all new products) I developed a rash from it, so it's really not for me. Normally the newer generation filters are better on me (despite having both rosacea and eczema) and although not something my skin tolerates well on an everyday basis, I can usually use them a few days a week (I also use mineral spf's on an incidental sun basis). This one was a firm no from me and my skin isn't keen on a lot of HA, so the Isntree is not something I think would work either (both due to the HA and the older filters used). I haven't really gone back to K beauty spf's after all the issues with the purito spf I used prior to the debacle, but dipped my toe in the water with the BofJ and had to give it away. I have spf's my skin tolerates from both a European chemical spf and some mineral spf's, so I don't really need to keep trying things my skin isn't happy with tbh. I have started to hear positive things about the skin 1004 spf and may try it at some stage, but I have very dry skin and probably need something a bit more emollient. Best wishes.

Your skin sounds EXACTLY like mine! I have tried COUNTLESS sunscreens. They all end up irritating my face and eyes or one over the other. Mineral sunscreens DRY my face out so bad. My face is NOT having any American sunscreens whatsoever. 😭. I'm at total loss and seriously ready to give up. I can't keep wasting money on sunscreen and getting my hopes up. Even Korean and Japanese sunscreens have irritated my face. Rosacea sucks. Dry skin sucks. Sensitive skin sucks. 😭. I totally understand what you're going through.

    • @lorainemcgillivray77
      @lorainemcgillivray77 Před 2 lety +2

@@mignonalverson655 Yes they do. The least drying mineral spf's I have tried are:
Paula's choice calm spf30 (available in a 15ml mini size to try)
      Colourscience original spf50
      Avene mineral spf50
The most hydrating of all is the skinceuticals mineral spf50 lotion.
I hope that helps and I too have had A LOT of trial and error. Under each of them I use my whole skincare routine including moisturiser. I allow that to settle down and then apply the spf. I can’t use any of these without my moisturiser underneath. I find mineral less irritating than chemical but it is drying due to the zinc. I do wear it but my other products compensate for the slight drying effect even these have (despite being the least drying I have tried). It’s so important for rosacea to wear it that l work around it. X

I have try BoJ sunscreen and it stings about 10 mins after application. I tried focusing on my skin barrier bcs some said it could be bcs of that. After about a month, i tried it again and it still stings, it's not even expired or anything. I'd want to try the isntree one though

Oh no! It's possible one of the sunscreen filters just don't agree with your skin, it helps to keep track of the ones that didn't work and maybe compare to ones that do work for you. It's a process of elimination but can help you figure out what ingredients work or don't work for your skin.

The skin angel 😇 one sounds good I like the thought of not feeling it I still haven't found a sunscreen I like more the canmake mermaid essence I just ordered the crazy expensive Tatcha one but they came out with a mini size for 25$ so I thought that would be the best way to try it and not go broke spending 60$ on it and maybe not liking it or even worse liking it then really wanting it in my routine at 60$..lol I have the BOJ one I need to try it out again because I don't think my skin was having it the first time but now that my skin is doing good I should give it another try. I have heard great thing about the isntree but it's the HA that gets me it's in everything and it's not my favorite ingredient alot of it tends to dry out and make my skin feel like it's burning so I am alittle scared that could be the case with the isntree islf it has high amounts in it .

    Chemist here 😁
tButyl alcohol is actually a solid in room temperature (it has a melting point at 26 °C) so it is not that easily vaporable like ethyl alcohol (alcohol denat.). I think tButyl alcohol is mostly a cosolvent in formulations, it helps dissolving components which don't usually dissolve in water.

From my experience the following sunscreens are very similar in texture (and smell)
Isntree = Goodal Calming (less moisturizing)
Round Lab Birch = Beauty of Joseon (less moisturizing)
But Goodal has exact same filters as Beauty of Joseon
I haven’t tried Skin 1004, will definitely give it a try tho
