Great Video. I need recipes like this.. Thank You, Jerra... I've watched your gardening since 2022... Thanks 🙏
I've never made it, but I'm going to save this video and make it when my pepper plants start producing more! Love the video idea of cooking with ingredients from the garden
Ave Maria! Que Rico! ❤ never thought of making that combination of rice. Yummy! 🎉
I love Sofrito! I learned how to make Sofrito from my Puerto Rican friend, and I make it all the time and always have it in my freezer. The recipe she gave me was equal parts onion to bell pepper, a handful of peeled garlic, and a bunch of cilantro. I don’t add tomatoes to mine because I usually add it after depending on what recipe I’m making. What’s great about Sofrito is you can also use it for Thai cooking because a lot of the Thai ingredients are similar to Sofrito you just add ginger or lemon grass to give it more of an Asian flare.
I enjoyed learning about your culture and how to make these dishes. Thanks Jerra!
Loving the cooking videos showcasing the use of your grown produce.
As a fellow Dominican, when will we see mangú or pastelon de platanos maduros recipes? Haha
Thank You this video was right on time! I have been looking for a sofrito recipe to can and I will be canning this!
This was a great video and I would love to see more of Dominican style cooking! Thank you
Awww thanks! I have more recipes coming out. I gotta make some videos showing my recipes with guandules, platanos, and yuca. So more to come.
I loved this. The only thing bad is now I’m HUNGRY 😂. I watch all your videos to learn what to do in my garden.
Thank you for watching! I'm trying to make more cooking videos. Just hard filming while I'm trying to cook.
It all looks delicious. I am from Puerto Rico and we use an ají called ají dulce for the sofrito. I wonder if it’s the same as ají cachucha. Thanks for the video, I can’t wait to try the chicken and the rice recipes.
It is the same pepper. It goes by different names depending on where your from.
We call the crispy rice “pegado”. Always a fight for it, LOL.
It goes by different names depending on where your from. Dominicans say con con 😂
Fellow Dominican! I can’t wait for my garden to produce enough to even start cooking especially make sofrito. 😩😅 loved this video! Would definitely love to see more Dominican recipes from your garden! 😍😍
The butter in the rice…I can’t get with it! 😩😩😩
I learned to like con con especially with some bomb habichuelas! Uffff
I would love to see videos of your gardens of Dominican ingredients! Like the beans! Do you use the beans you grow in a Moro? Especially the funky looking ones I wonder how that would look and taste! 🥴🥴😮💨🤤
We grow rollo (platanos), guandules, and yuca too. I plan on making more videos because these crops grow so well in hot climates.
Oh wonderful!!! I need a way to use up this Cuban oregano!!! I'd love to try growing these peppers!!! I do great growing jalapeño and hot spicy peppers not so great with sweet peppers!
Nothing likes to bother hot peppers so they are easier to grow and more productive than sweet peppers. Except for cap 455 or aji cachucha which produce a lot.
I like butter in my rice too.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I get stares when I add butter to my rice at family functions LOL
I am originally from Downtown PA
My Dad is from Coudersport. I have never been there. Just know it's super cold.
Love it when you do a cooking video and this one is Great. It's funny to me though because my wife is Puerto Rican and even though I grow EVERYTHING needed to make this fresh she ALWAYS buys the frozen Goya sofrito at the store and now I just realized I can't show her your video because if she reads my comment I'm DONE FOR lmao😂 I guess I just make some fresh and see what she says then. 😂
Try it and let us know what she says.
LOL make it for her. I'm sure she would love it.
@@JerrasGarden Yeah I have a bunch of peppers that are almost ready to harvest and I always end up with more then I have a need for, so this sounds like a great way to use them. Very cool video nice work. Loved it
