    @jaythomas9595 Před 3 lety +41

    Literally the prettiest jumper I've seen at that position and that size. Really one of the best forms of all time. And he was consistent with it his entire career (pre elbow surgery).
    2. They called him selfish. But Melo was the main reason the Lakers got pushed to game 6. He made literally every play you can ask. Boards, dimes, scoring, and defense.
    3. Speaking of dimes, did you see the excellent court vision? My Knicks never gave him the horses he needed at an older age. Nor did they give him a good PG. Even with a old Jason Kidd Melo got the Knicks far despite how JR Smith ruined it for them by swinging at Jason Terry.
    4. Melo is what you call a rare multiple tool offensive player which made him unguardable. He had it all...
    Stand still jumper, off the bounce jumper, catch and shoot jumper, drive and score, drive and pop, face up jab and pop, jab one step and pop, jab hesi drive and score, post up turn around jumper, post up beast mode. And the tool every Hooper needs, improvisation. He had plenty of that. Plus handles.
    Wanna teach your kid offense? Watch Melo. Wanna teach footwork? Watch Kobe.

He is exactly 1,000 points away from taking the tenth spot. He would actually only need to average 12.5 ppg over 82 games. SoGOOD187 His rookie season was better. Led his team to the playoffs in a tougher conference, averaged more PPG, rebounds, and a higher FG% that year. They literally only gave it to Bron because he had two more assists per game and was the poster child for the NBA.

      People like to overrate Denver Melo to make it sound like he was ever a top ten player in the league while playing for them. He wasn't.

    • @kobealegendforever1310
      @kobealegendforever1310 Před 5 lety

      First of all I don't give a shit about what he was "nominated for". I don't remember him winning an MVP that year, but I don't believe in MVPs anyway.
      In 2007 he had a great season, no doubt about that, but there were A LOT of great players in the league that year. Players like Tim Duncan, Lebron, Kobe, Marion, Elton Brand KG, Ben Wallace and Mcgrady were top 10 quality players that year. Melo was obviously a top 5 scorer in the league that year, but he played lazy defence and turned it over a lot. Had the powerhouse centre Marcus Camby not been on their team to pick up after their terrible defence, the Nuggets don't make the playoffs that year and Melo's defence is known a lot more in the media.
      Gonna skip 2008 because it was the exact same story as the year before, but I wanna note that Melo was the 3rd best on his team this year, behind Camby and AI.
      Kinda feel like leaving out 2006 just because it's pretty much the same story but Carmelo was the second best on the team this year and was probably tied for his best year as a nugget. The league was full of very good players back then and he just had too many good players coming out of the west to be considered top 10 in the league this year.
      If you're looking for prime Melo look for 2013-14 Melo. Btw do research before saying dumb shit pussy

      Yall youngins only know basketball on a nba level but not pure ball and iq. Melo was always at the highest level. You have different players with unique prototypes and skillsets. LeBron is by far the best of the combination obviously. Melo was the best all around and most prolific scorer in the game for many years. This dude was nasty since he was in high school. This dude had the record they took from the great George Gervin for scored 33 points in a quarter until Klay Thompson ended up breaking it. He also has a scoring title and has had a 60 point game. He also got his team to the playoffs his rookie year and a tougher conference and nobody gave him credit for it. They should have gave Co Rookie of the Year like they did for Jason Kidd and Grant Hill but you young'uns probably know nothing about that.

    Melo had an amazing first game then went pretty bad. Just for the highlights I'm not able to determine if it was solely bad shooting or a good Lakers defense, but probably it was the effect of a good defense over bad perfomances. Just for the record Melo had 40.7 FG% and 25 3PT%
